2028 Tai Bell continues to cement himself as one of the more intriguing young prospects in his class, and college programs are taking notice in a major way. Fresh off receiving new offers from Houston and Purdue, Bell sat down with Phenom Hoops to break down the latest in his recruitment. From established high-major programs building strong connections to additional interest rapidly growing, Bell discussed where things stand, what programs like about his game, and his excitement about the season finally getting underway.

Excitement about the Season Starting at Mater Lakes:

“I’m really excited to be back with my guys playing in real games again. It’s been a long preseason, and we’ve worked really hard. I just want to continue to grow as a leader and win games.”

Recruitment Update:

Thoughts on the latest offer from Houston:

“Houston is a great program! Coach Sampson says that he thinks that I would be a great fit for their culture. I think so too. They are tough, they defend and they do well with guards. I was going to visit a few weeks ago, but the airports were crazy, and my season was starting. I definitely plan to get out this year.”

Thoughts on Purdue visit and offer:

“Purdue is another incredible program with great history! I was thrilled to receive that offer.  I have been building a relationship with them for a while now. I really liked how Coach Painter discussed his success with various types of guards. It was an amazing visit! All the Coaches and the guys on the team made me feel like I was a part of the family already. The crowd and the game night experience were unreal!”

Other Schools Looking to Enter the Picture:

“I pretty much try to stay in contact with all the schools that have offered me so far. Miami was at my practice a few weeks ago and I visited them. I also visited Florida and Texas. Coach Miller and his staff at Texas were great! I already know the school because my brother is going there to play football, but they spent a whole afternoon showing me all that they have to offer from the basketball side.”
