One of the premier guards from Virginia, 2026 Trey Beamer, made the move last year to head down south and suit up for IMG Academy, playing a national schedule and looking to elevate his game. He was able to show that and is now looking to have a big summer with Team United.

When talking about his game, Beamer is known as a scoring guard that knows how to fill it up, create for himself, score off the bounce or from deep, and also be a true playmaker on the court. Beamer had several impressive performances at IMG and will be one of the clear offensive options for Team United this year.

Phenom Hoops was able to catch up with Beamer about the latest, diving more into his game, talk about his latest offer from La Salle, and some of the latest going on with him. Check out what he had to say.

Phenom: How was everything this past season for you and your team? And how has this summer gone for you overall?
Beamer: I think being at IMG this season was the best thing that could have happened for me. I learned so much. The past summer that I had set me up for a lot of opportunities to set myself up for the future.

Phenom: How would you best describe your game and how you like to operate? Where do you flourish?
Beamer: I would describe my game as a guy that can put the ball in the basket for his team at any time but can also facilitate and get guys involved, also a guy that is going to always compete at a high level. I flourish best when I feel like I’m trusted to be myself and being pushed to be my best.

Phenom: What are your thoughts on your latest offer? What did the staff have to say, who has been your main contact, and what all do you know about them?
Beamer: I appreciate Coach Nichols for still believing in me while making his move from Radford to La Salle.

Phenom: What other offers do you hold? And who has been strong with you from those?
Beamer: I have offers from Wake Forest, Mississippi State, Old Dominion, West Virginia, High Point, and College of Charleston. Wake Forest and Mississippi state stay in contact and Virginia Tech also contacts.

Phenom: What schools have you been able to visit? If so, what did you like about each?
Beamer: I will most likely visit Wake Forest again and Virginia when I’m able to come back home from school for the summer.
