Continuing on the recruiting trail, we look down in Florida at 2026 6’9 Alexander Davis who is now at Mainland High School. The forward has been garnering some attention his way and could be seeing a major uptick this summer with his game. He recently added a big offer from California, pushing his list to four offers and counting. Phenom Hoops recently spoke to him about the latest, more about his game and development, and some of the latest surrounding his latest news. See what he had to say in our 1-on-1 with him.
Phenom: How was everything this past season for you and your team? And how has this summer gone for you overall?
Davis: This past season was good. My teammates and I fought hard and came up short in the second round of districts, but overall, we had a good team and coach. This summer has been good. After my high school season, I started working on my game both on and off the court, and it’s really showing in games this last weekend.
Phenom: How would you best describe your game and how you like to operate? Where do you flourish?
Davis: I would best describe my game as playing hard defense and never letting up. I love to operate by never giving up and giving it my all from start to finish. I flourish by being a force on rebounds; I love getting rebounds and playing hard on defense again.
Phenom: What areas of your game have you been working on to develop?
Davis: The areas of my game I’ve been working on are shooting and dribbling. I have to work on being confident when shooting the ball and dribbling.
Phenom: What are your thoughts on your latest offer? What did the staff have to say, who has been your main contact, and what do you know about them?
Davis: The University of California was my latest offer, and it seemed like a good fit. My coach, Zachary Reynolds, and I are good friends, and they told me I could get 20+ offers if I work hard, and that’s what I plan on doing!
Phenom: What other offers do you hold? And who has been strong with you from those?
Davis: I currently hold offers from FIU, Jacksonville, Cal, and Kennesaw State.
Phenom: What other schools have been showing interest that have yet to offer?
Davis: No other schools have shown interest, but Cal, FIU, and JU have been talking to me the most.
Phenom: What schools have you been able to visit? If so, what did you like about each?
Davis: I’ve been on one unofficial visit with JU, and I loved their campus. It was nice and chill, and their practice gym was fire!
Phenom: Any schools you want to visit or any visits you have set up in the future?
Davis: Some schools I would love to visit are the University of Miami, LSU, FAMU, and the University of Central Florida.
