A new name that has come into the state of North Carolina has been 2026 6’7 Frank Oguche, as he has been suiting up and making noise for 1of1 Academy. Coming from Australia, Oguche has shown potential with his game, being a versatile piece, being able to guard and play multiple positions, and showing that he can be an effective option offensively from multiple levels as well as potential still left in his game. We caught up with Oguche shortly after his performance at The Well Invitational, where he ultimately earned his first offer. Here is what he had to say.
Thoughts on first D1 offer from Charlotte:
“My first thoughts on Charlotte are that it’s a very nice school. Going on a tour around the school, I noticed the liveliness of the campus and the team looked good. I watched their practice, and it was very competitive and organized. Another thing I like about the program is the strength and conditioning. No one on the team was skinny, they moved very well and were very strong, the strength coaching they provide plays a big role in that. The staff explained to me that they were excited to potentially work with me and they believe I can really develop into something great with them, which made me feel great about the program!”
Other Interests from Schools:
In talking with Oguche, he mentioned that schools like Charleston, Iona, Oklahoma State, George Mason, and Mississippi State have all expressed interest his way at some point.
Game Development:
“My ability to play 1-3 has definitely improved, especially my point guard skills and ball handling. My shooting has drastically improved, the amount of shoots we put up here at 1-of-1 is the reason for that! My focus overall is to play at the highest level which is the NBA. So right now, I’m trying to get to a college that will believe in me and develop me to be able to achieve this goal.”
