Myers Park certainly proved that they are a team to be reckoned with and will garner national attention all year long.  They have big-time talent led by 2025 Sadiq White, Tennessee commit 2024 Bishop Boswell, and Notre Dame commit 2024 Sir Mohammed. But this team also has players that a going to be valuable pieces if they would like to make a run at another title once again.

One of those players who impressed at the George Lynch Invitational was 2025 Ashton King, a name we haven’t been able to view in some time, but he certainly gave us a reminder of what he provides on the court. King is a strong, sturdy guard that continues to showcase his ability to knock down shots and be a strong perimeter threat. But he did a great job in competing on both sides of the floor at the event, whether it was scoring inside and out, competing and battling for extra possessions, and did a nice job defensively as well.

With the three-headed monster leading the charge at Myers Park, King will be depended on a variety of ways and he will have plenty of chances to shine on the big stage for Myers Park.  He is a name to track more of this season.

What Was Said from Open Gym:

King is yet another strong, physical guard who has the ability to pass extremely well with either hand off the dribble. We were impressed with his court vision and ability to make timely passes off the dribble. With the trio of Boswell, Mohammed, and King, Coach Taylor has three talented ball handlers who can interchange from the lead guard to the off-guard position. In addition, King will also be a solid defender which will allow Myers Park to be an outstanding defensive team in the halfcourt setting. While King didn’t hit many shots from the perimeter at open gym, he does have a history of being an efficient perimeter shooter.
