Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or see a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day. It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player. Here is the latest commitment.
Player: Chane Bynum
Class: 2025
Committed to: UNCG
What Has Been Said by Phenom Hoops:
“Given his blend of size and shooting, Bynum quickly becomes a problematic matchup for opponents. He’s a capable post scorer and a terrific spot-up threat along the perimeter. Bynum displays range, quality shot mechanics, and an understanding of when to shoot versus attack. He’s a very capable threat off the bounce, especially for his size/position, and reads the floor fairly well as a passer. Bynum can get to the basket and finish above or below the rim. He moves well without the ball and poses a useful lob threat. Bynum runs the floor properly in transition to get to his spots or fill the lane. He’s a solid defender and rebounder who positions himself for success, but will only get better as he gets stronger. However, the appeal of an inside-out forward with considerable upside should be obvious.”
“Bynum made a lasting impression with his blend of physical tools and natural fluidity. At 6’8, he moves exceptionally well for his size, showing smooth mobility, a confident mid-range stroke, and flashes of ball-handling in the open floor. He’s comfortable facing up, defending multiple positions, and impacting the game without needing the ball in his hands. As his skill set continues to expand, Bynum’s long-term upside is very real—one of the most intriguing forward prospects in attendance.”
“Chane is a high-upside prospect with a ton of potential and the physical tools that immediately stand out. He’s a lengthy, fluid, and versatile athlete who moves extremely well for his size. Offensively, Chane has shown glimpses of a developing inside-out skill set, comfortably finishing around the rim while also flashing the ability to step out and knock down shots or face up and attack. Defensively, his length and activity allow him to guard multiple positions, contest shots, and disrupt passing lanes, making him a valuable and switchable presence on the floor. As he continues to build strength, polish his offensive game, and grow in confidence, Chane is the kind of late bloomer that college coaches will want to keep a close eye on. His ceiling is high, and his best basketball is clearly still ahead of him.”
