2030 Hudson Heim (KC Run GMC)
Heim may have been the best prospect and the one with the most potential on Day 1 that I saw. Standing at 6’5, he offers a lot with his game and versatility. Heim does a great job in running the floor, operating from the perimeter, knocking down shots from outside but also being an impact player in running the court to finish. Loved his overall presence and think he has a lot of potential left in his game, as Heim could be trending as a national name.
2029 Kenton Kimble (PVB NXT 2029)
Kimble was a speedy guard who grabbed my attention with his overall playmaking ability. He attacked well out in transition, created and penetrated, and was not only able to score well off the bounce but also be a playmaker for others. Kimble was excellent out in the open floor and opponents had trouble staying in front of him throughout the game that we watched.
2029 Savaun Jones (Iconic 2029)
It isn’t always about the wins for teams, but 2029 Savaun Jones was one that grabbed my intrigue with his physical stature and overall presence. He has a nice blend of physicality and skill, scoring effectively not only by attacking the defense and getting to the paint, but also scoring from outside at times. Jones was one who earned my attention with how he was able to operate and create, and there was a lot to like about his game.
2030 Aaliyah Mack (Dream City)
Mack was a dominant force all throughout Day 1, as Dream cruised through the competition. She was quite impressive at her position, overpowering opponents with her frame, embracing contact, and finishing strong along with touch. She has a great overall feel for the game, being able to create and operate off the bounce, finish strong throughout, and being assertive on the glass. Mack, along with her team, was quite impressive throughout.
2028 Kaiden Patrick (Tru Colorado)
Patrick was a new name for me, and every time I watched Tru Colorado, they were impressive with a balanced attack. But Patrick was one that caught my attention with his ability to operate in the post. He showcased a nice feel in scoring with his back to the basket, finishing with touch, scoring around defenders, and helping attack the glass. He also made several high-IQ plays in finding teammates on the court, as the forward was able to flourish in a variety of roles.
