Over the summer, Phenom Hoops had a chance to head out to Kansas City for the US Open Championships. We had a terrific time, checking in on familiar faces but also learning several other new names we believe you will learn about in the coming years.

One player that really grabbed our attention throughout the event was 2029 6’7 Bronx Ganaway from KC Run GMC. He was a standout all through the event, and the potential he has with his game along with his age, makes him a name we believe you will be hearing down the road more. This is what Patrick O’Brien had to say about him at the time:

“I have a feeling you are going to be hearing about this young man down the road for KC Run GMC. Standing around 6’7 early on as a 2029 prospect, Ganaway brings a ton of intrigue as a wing-type player in the coming years. He is comfortable in a variety of areas on the court, versatile on both the offensive and defensive end, can stretch the floor with his perimeter jumper, but also create and finish off the bounce.  Again, for a player his size and his age, he offers a lot of potential in the coming years, and we believe college programs will be looking hard his way.”

Ganaway checks off a lot of boxes as a 6’7 prospect that is shaping up to be a wing in the coming years (if the trend continues early on). He can produce inside and out, love his ability to get to his spots, and has incredible potential in what he ultimately may be in the coming years. Ganaway can defend multiple positions at the next level, as he displayed a strong IQ and feel for the game.

Right now, he already holds an offer from Missouri, but I believe that he will be a key piece down the road for KC Run GMC, and so many more college programs will be learning in name.  Ganaway has a true chance to crack the Top 100 list in the coming years with his potential.
