This Saturday, Phenom Hoops will host our Davidson Day Showcase at Davidson Day School in the heart of Davidson, North Carolina. In addition to the hosting Patriots, there are multiple intriguing programs set to take the stage. Between the individual talent, player matchups, and record implications, there’s a ton of intrigue across the four-game slate. Let’s take a brief look at each matchup…

Elevation Prep versus Gray Stone Day

Kicking off the event, Elevation Prep will be hunting for their second win of the season against a Gray Stone Day squad in search of its first victory. Despite some ups and downs as a group, Elevation Prep has found consistent production behind the core of Kevin Rodriguez, Didier Ilunga, and Tayveon Epps. Meanwhile, Gray Stone Day has shown the ability to compete, yet hasn’t been able to get over the hump. Colt Greer leads this group, but they have a variety of players who make an impact.

Christ the King versus Sun Valley

Similar to the entry above, both of these squads will be looking to earn their second win of the early season. Christ the King has a scrappy, balanced group of pieces throughout its roster. They’ve battled in both of their contests this season, but this game could be the biggest challenge yet. Meanwhile, Sun Valley has continued to highlight a well-rounded attack despite losing multiple pieces from last year’s squad. Guys like Noah McKinney, Victor Chafen, Jaylin Powell, and Jayden Jeffery provide meaningful contributions.

Parris Prep versus Bull City Prep

The third contest of our Davidson Day Showcase will highlight two quality squads looking to get back on track in Parris Prep and Bull City Prep. Parris Prep has certainly played a challenging schedule thus far, and their next opponent won’t make things any easier. They have a tough, scrappy group of pieces throughout their balanced roster. On the other side, Bull City Prep has the collection of players to keep trending up this season. Guys like Sebastian Pace, Marcello Fludd, Justin Golphin, Jordan King, Stephano Farrington, Ryan Chen, and several others should make them a difficult matchup for any opponent.

Davidson Day versus Lake Norman

Rounding out the event, arguably the top two teams in the field are set to battle it out. It probably goes without saying, but Davidson Day is an incredibly talented group with a ton of size. Between the likes of Xavier Hall, Justyn Whitfield, Sherod McCormick, Omari Whiteside, Nick Arnold, Cody Peck, and Will Stevens, they can truly go toe-to-toe with any squad in North Carolina. Meanwhile, Lake Norman enters yet another brutal stretch of their schedule. In addition to losing majority of their core during the offseason, they’ve narrowly suffered defeat in each of their last two contests. Led by Braden Miller, Noah Pfefferkorn, and Cohen Edwards, this should be a nice test for the Wildcats.
