Cameron Woodall
Holding elite level travel ball events is that you get great talent, known talent that college coaches and scouts are excited to see and write about. The great thing about being in our position is that there are so many teams who play in these events that coaches may not know yet. The hype machine tends to get around some players and stay there.
Part of Phenom Hoops’ platform is exposure for everyone. The kids that all the coaches and scouts know will certainly get some love, but light will be shed upon players that coaches may not have heard of. That is certainly the case here at Summer Havoc Live.
After Day 1 here is a guide of teams and players that coaches may not have heard of yet and NEED to make sure to watch.
SR1 All Stars (Mississippi)
This team runs about 8 or 9 deep with players who are scholarship level guys. Not only that but the coach rotates the team in a hockey manner so everyone gets ample opportunity.
Players
6’7” 2018 Cameron Woodall
He is ferociously explosive, puts his armpits in the rim with so much power. Woodall is a good rebounder, tough defender and has a football player’s frame. He currently has an offer from Chicago State, that list will grow soon.
6’4” 2018 Kenna Bryant
Mr Hand Down Man Down. Bryant was on fire from beyond the arc. The long armed guard had soft form with deep range and good athleticism. He played within himself and finished the game with 5 made 3s and a handful of pull ups. Inexplicably he has no offers, that should change.
6’5” 2018 Arturro Bingham
An aggressively explosive, downhill wing. Bingham brought the crowd to their feet with multiple high flying dunks and finishes, including two bodies he caught. He is a good wing defender and solid rebounder.
6’8” 2018 Roderick Smith
Smith is the highest recruited player on the team, and it is easy to see why the big man has 4 Division 1 offers. He has a large frame and is very nimble on his feet. He catches everything around him and plays with great patience on the block. His offers are Austin Peay, Southern Miss, Northwestern St and Mississippi Valley State.
6’2” 2018 Robert Kendrick
Kendrick is a shot maker. He has good range and is very comfortable creating space for his jump shot off the bounce. Kendrick has a solid secondary handle and is an explosive scorer. He carries an offer from Northern Alabama, and is one schools should look closely at.
6’4” 2018 Damerius Wash
Wash has been a jack of all trades guard who sticks his nose in everything. The lengthy Wash defends well, especially in the passing lanes. He is a good athlete and a good secondary ball handler. When you look up, Wash seems to always be making a play.
