Championship weekend at the Phenom Hoop State Fall League brought out the best from teams and players across the state, as competitors battled to close out the event on a high note. The energy was high, the gym was packed, and several standout performances helped define what this league is all about—toughness, teamwork, and growth. From explosive scoring displays to all-around dominance and leadership, a number of players elevated their game when it mattered most. As the season approaches, these names made a lasting impression with their championship-level performances, setting the tone for what’s to come this high school season.
2027 Barack Jones (Wall West)
Jones stepped up in a big way in the championship game and was consistent throughout the Fall League. Jones was able to put his team on his back offensively, scoring 26 points and showing his ability to make strong plays off the bounce, get to his spots, and knock down shots from multiple levels. But he also played well within the offense overall, as he looks to be a key guard for West Cabarrus this season.
2026 Caleb Jones (Moravian Prep)
Jones continued to have an eye-opening Fall League and college coaches should be coming his way quickly. Once again, Jones was one of the most consistent presences on the court for his team, playing with pace and feel, operating well, taking what is given to him, showing to be a multi-level scorer, and one that can be a playmaker for others. Jones displayed a strong overall skill set as he helped lead his team to a championship.
2026 Khaleil Walters (C-Town)
Overall, Clayton looks to be a fun team to watch this upcoming season, and you could either find Walters’ name on this list or 2026 Jayden Young. Both were impressive but Walters’ ability to impact the game in a variety of ways impressed. He impresses with his bounce and ability to attack, using his length to finish over defenders, get to his spots, and just be assertive out in the open floor. Young can play off the ball, knock down shots, and impact the game in other areas.
2026 Bryan Little (Panthers)
Little had a lot of buzz around his name with our scouts, with what he has shown the last few weeks. Built like a football player, he leaves a lasting impression with his motor, energy, and physicality on the court. Little understands how to outwork opponents at his position, creating extra opportunities and also embracing contact as well. And you can see he continues to work on expanding his game further out on offense.
2027 QJ Young (Cougars)
Young has had a coming-out party this Fall League and really put that on full display this past weekend. In hopes of leading his team to another championship, Young did all he could do to help his team, attacking the rim and finishing strong, creating off the bounce and using his length well, scoring off the ball or creating his own shot, and impacting the game on either side of the floor. I expect that to continue this upcoming season.
