Which players really improved their stock at the Southern Jam

Jo Jeffers
6’3” 2017 Ja Morant – SC Hornets
It is hard to imagine Morant breaking out twice in a month, but he did it. At the Summer Havoc he solidified himself as a good player, however at the Southern Jam Live Morant solidified himself as a high major prospect. He finished the event scoring 40, 38, 36, and 48 points in his final four games against top competition. He is long, explosive, and tough.
6’1” 2018 Jo Jeffers – Mid State Magic 17s
Jeffers has such great feel. Playing in our most talented super pool, Jeffers was the best player on a team who went 7-2. Jeffers can shoot the ball at a high level, has great feel and vision, and he has the ball on a tight handle. With his length and skill set, he is only getting better. It will be interesting to see his recruitment moving forward, but he should see a lot of it.
6’5” 2018 Jeremy Dillon – West Virginia Wildcats 16s
Dillon came into the event as a somewhat unknown, however he quickly established himself in the event. He is a very strong wing, able to attack close to the basket and shows no fear rebounding and defensively. As he continues to solidify his jump shot, he has a shot a high major recruitment. Marshall has already offered, West Virginia is at most of his games. Its time teams out of his state know.
6’3” 2017 Taveion Hollingsworth – Matts Mustangs
Hollingsworth had a little bit of a buzz coming into the event. He carried offers from Wright State, St Louis, Winthrop and others and he picked up an offer from Murray State during the event. However, he had A10 schools tracking him all weekend. With his performances he showed he could excel in that league. It will be interesting watching him moving forward, he will win at the next level.
6’3” 2017 Jamal Bryant – Flight 22
Like most South Carolina born basketball players, Bryant exudes toughness. During session 1 he averaged a double/double capping it all off with a 22 point/21 rebound performance. He is a scrappy wing, who always finds himself around the ball. He finishes in the midrange and turned his tough defense into easy offense.
6’2 2019 KyKy Tandy – West Virginia Wildcats 17s
Just prior to the event, Tandy picked up an Oklahoma offer however many had not heard of him still. That changed immediately as Tandy went for 20 points in his opening game. He is a scoring lead guard who goes at all opponents in front of him. Only a 2019, his career will be a fun one to track.
6’6” Dajour Joseph – HH So Fla
Outside of Morant, perhaps no one turned more heads than Joseph. Each time he stepped onto the floor, a flood of coaches came baseline wondering “who in the world is this kid'” Joseph is explosively athletic, and plays a grown man’s type game. He handled well in the half court and showed the want to dominate his opponent. It was his dogged nature, and he succeeded.
