Shooting has become one of the most valuable skills in today’s game, and the Phenom Hoop State League (West) was filled with players who proved they could stretch the floor and knock down shots at a high level. Over the course of the weekend, I had the chance to watch a number of prospects showcase their perimeter game, but a select group truly separated themselves with their consistency, confidence, and ability to change the flow of the game. These are the top shooters that stood out to me, and the players who impressed the most out West.

2026 Caleb Jones – Moravian Prep

Jones has had an eye-opening three weeks and could be in for a big boost, as he flourished with his ability to knock down shots with confidence from multiple levels. He has had a very good Fall League and has a smooth feel/release overall.

2027 Zyon White – Cougars

White has a chance to really break out and show more of his game, as the 6’4 long prospect is extremely confident from outside. He gets to his spots, uses his length, and confidently knocks down shots.

2027 Jeremy Duhon – Fire Babies

Duhon continues to be a key piece for this team in opening up the offense. He is adding more to his game but you can’t deny his ability to open up the offense from the perimeter.

2026 Jack Siegel – Frat Boys

Siegel has size, fluidity, IQ, and feel as he continues to flourish as a leader and scorer. He does a great job in making the right decision but flourishes with his ability to create his shot and be a scorer for his team.

2027 Collin McConneyhead – Huntersville Knights

McConneyhead was a newer name for me, but he left a lasting impression overall, as he filled it up as an offensive weapon. He plays with swagger and confidence, and he proved to be a weapon from outside.

2027 Mac Habenicht – Mav Academy

Marvin Ridge will be interesting throughout the season, as they bring some strong weapons to the court. Watching throughout the weeks, it was Habenicht that proved to be a big-time shotmaker for this team, as he helps bring a balanced attack.

2026 Jaxson Martin – Team Blue

Maybe not the name you expect with this team but watching Team Blue on several occasions, Martin was one who was able to get to his spots well and be a consistent shotmaker from behind the arc.

2026 Logan Johnson – Team Slay

Johnson, a UNC-Asheville commit, continues to thrive and shine with his ability to be a shotmaker. Smooth release from multiple levels, Johnson plays with a ton of confidence in his ability to score.
