Team 5

Coach: Chris Ewell

#23: 5’8 ’29 Parker Pozil (Westchester Country Day)

First up, Parker Pozil is a 5-foot-8 prospect in the Class of 2029. Despite being the smallest camper on this team, he found a lot of ways to make his presence felt. Pozil is a smart, unselfish, high-motor guard who made nice passes, knocked down perimeter jumpers, and actively toggled between playing with or without the ball. Next in his development process is working on getting quicker, as it would make him a more reliable defender at the point of attack. Coach Ewell on Pozil: “Parker was a good teammate who made correct reads, displayed unselfishness, and was confident enough to stay aggressive throughout the day. Played well in transition and the half-court. Moved well without the ball and stayed ready to shoot along the perimeter. Showed some flashes of being a good, confident passer.” Pozil enjoyed a quality showing at camp and will be a player to watch progress over the coming years.

#52: 5’10 ’26 Braydyn Francis (Chapin)

Next, Braydyn Francis is a 5-foot-10 prospect in the Class of 2026. Some guys simply know how to dictate the action, and he certainly fits the bill. Francis runs the team with IQ, poise, and excellent balance between scoring and playmaking. Lethal shooter and phenomenal passer. Next in his development process is working on his ability to move without the ball, as it would make him a more complete player. Coach Ewell on Francis: “Braydyn was one of our best playmakers, both for himself and others. Quick with the ball and knows how to change pace. Gets where he wants on the floor and has a good touch from all levels. Tight handle, good vision, terrific feel, and unwavering confidence. One of the best shooters at camp, he shoots it off the catch or off the bounce and displays the necessary IQ to see the next read. Needs to keep it simple at times and take the easy play.” Francis certainly was clearly one of the top performers at camp and should be poised for a strong senior season with Chapin.

#62: 5’11 ’28 Brandon Yeboah (Atkins)

Next, Brandon Yeboah is a 5-foot-11 prospect in the Class of 2028. He brings real value to a team through his high motor, rugged defensive presence, and unselfish mentality. Yeboah utilizes his quickness to contain opposing ball-handlers and force turnovers at a nice rate. Next in his development process is working on his consistency as a three-point shooter, as it would make him a more dynamic offensive threat. Coach Ewell on Yeboah: “Brandon is an athlete who plays hard and moves well along the perimeter or cutting. Showed flashes of good defense, effort on the floor, and the ability to play various roles. Ran the floor in transition, made extra effort plays, and secured rebounds on both ends. Utility piece who fills multiple roles.” Yeboah consistently found ways to make an impact during camp and should only continue to progress over the coming years.

#73: 6’0 ’27 Bryson Frazier (Hickory Ridge)

Next, Bryson Frazier is a 6-foot-0 prospect in the Class of 2027. Given his steady presence and well-rounded identity, he did a great job of producing within the flow of the action. Frazier is a solid creator who knows how to touch the paint, finish, and set up others. Defends with energy at the point of attack. Next in his development process is working on his ability to move without the ball, as it would lead to increased spot-up opportunities. Coach Ewell on Frazier: “Bryson had some bright spots, but was consistent every game. Plays well on or off the ball. Attacks gaps well and is a willing passer who can score when needed. Defends with a purpose and came up with timely plays at several key moments.” Frazier offered nice contributions during camp and should be able to carve out a role for Hickory Ridge over the next few seasons.

#84: 6’0 ’28 Ty Hefner (Hough)

Next, Ty Hefner is a 6-foot-0 prospect in the Class of 2028. Although there were several notable shooters on display, he was definitely one of the best. Hefner is a lethal marksman and off-ball threat who positions himself for success and attacks closeouts as needed. Defends with toughness. Next in his development process is working on the use of his off-hand, as it would make him a better creator off the bounce. Coach Ewell on Hefner: “Ty was one of, if not the best, shooters off the catch in the gym. Every game, he moved well, stayed shot-ready, and kept pressure on the defense. Made some good cuts without the ball and made good decisions with the ball in his hands.” Hefner did an incredible job of playing to his strengths and should be a useful piece for Hough going forward.

#127: 6’3 ’29 Cameron Crouch (Calvary Day)

Next, Cameron Crouch is a 6-foot-3 prospect in the Class of 2029. Given his status as one of the youngest campers on this team, he displayed several flashes of intrigue. Crouch is still growing into his body but knows how to compete and operate within the flow of the team structure. Next in his development process is working on his consistency as a shooting threat, as it would make him a more threatening offensive piece. Coach Ewell on Crouch: “Cam is a long-term prospect. Very coachable kid who plays hard and wants to get better. Solid size to rebound and run to the rim. Needs to work on awareness and finishing ability. Hit some shots from 15 feet and out but needs to improve efficiency. Willing to make the right play. Still learning.” Crouch enjoyed a solid showing at camp and should be able to steadily improve over the foreseeable future.

#139: 6’4 ’27 Aiden Horton (Davie County)

Next, Aiden Horton is a 6-foot-4 prospect in the Class of 2027. Given his foundation as a natural glue-guy, it’s easy to see all the ways he’s able to impact a game. Horton is a reliable all-around piece who plays hard, makes the right play, and understands how to fill in the gaps however necessary. Quality passer, defender, and rebounder who knows how to adapt to several types of roles. Next in his development process is working to be more assertive, as it would make him an even more productive player. Coach Ewell on Horton: “Aiden is a player who can make an impact all over the floor. Rebounds, can start the fast break, good enough handle to attack gaps and good length to finish at the rim. Shot was streaky but you can see the potential. Good defender inside and out, uses his size well against quicker guards.” Horton did a lot of things well at camp and should be a meaningful contributor for Davie County going forward.

#149: 6’8 ’26 Aden Jeffries (Southern Durham)

Finishing up, Aden Jeffries is a 6-foot-8 prospect in the Class of 2026. Given his incredibly versatile skillset and ability to consistently create matchup problems for opponents, he was largely unstoppable. Jeffries is a terrific creator for his size and is capable of altering his approach based on positional matchup. Still has considerable upside remaining. Next in his development process is working on getting stronger, as it would allow him to absorb increased contact as a finisher and rebounder. Coach Ewell on Jeffries: “Aden was the best player in attendance. Really not much he couldn’t do at camp. Solid handle, passing, and shot-making ability. Passes well from the post and high post. Confident shooter from all over the floor and reliably creates off the bounce downhill or for his jumper. Needs to be a better rebounder and mover without the ball. Used his length on defense, protected the rim, and highlighted some sneaky athleticism to go with his size. College-level player!” Jeffries proved to be a dominant force at camp and should attract plenty of college coaches during his upcoming senior season.
