Out around the Greensboro area, Page and Dudley matched up again for the second time in six days. The first game came right down to the wire, with Page securing the 50-49 victory on the road. Now, they looked to duke it out once again and this one was much like the first matchup, coming down to the final seconds.
Both teams were trading baskets in the first quarter, with the Pirates holding the narrow 10-9 lead after one. But it was the offensive game of Ayden Gamble and Frank Stockton that started to come alive and retook the lead in the second and was able to hold the 26-22 lead at halftime. It was the Pirates’ turn though to turn on the offense in the third quarter, turning a four-point deficit into a double-digit lead in the third. But, as mentioned above, this one came down to the final seconds once again, as Dudley never gave up and started to chip away at the lead late. A late bucket came with 0.6 to cut it to two points but there wasn’t enough time in the end, as Page secured the 51-49 victory to remain undefeated.

Dudley:
Ayden Gamble 22 points
Frank Stockton 14 points
Jahree Braswell 11 points
Standouts:
2022 Josh Scovens (Page): Let me tell you this… Scovens was off the charts with his play for the Pirates in this win and they needed every point that he gave them. Scoring 18 points in the win, Scovens just seemed to be all over the court, getting his hands on the ball, moving well without the ball, finding the open spots in the defense, and showing touch inside and out. Scored well around the rim and finished well but also stepped out and hit two big three’s as well.
2021 Ayden Gamble (Dudley): Gamble continues to elevate his game and really is showing to be a force scoring the ball. He plays bigger than listed, gets downhill, and showcases good athleticism on the floor. He stays aggressive but knows where to pick his spots, whether it is creating with the dribble or spotting up and knocking down tough shots from outside. Another 20+ performance for him to start the season.
2021 Frank Stockton (Dudley): There is just something about the way that Stockton plays the game that should allow him to earn more attention possibly at the next level. Athletic 6’5 prospect, and showed that he is comfortable playing outside but also being physical and using his athleticism to battle down in the paint. Stockton has been averaging a double-double to start the season and continued to show much of that in this game.
