Another weekend of championships was going on all Sunday afternoon, as teams were looking to finish off the event in style and on top. All teams came in to compete but only a few could come away with some hardware.
Back down in the 15u Division, Carolina Riptide 2024 and Upstate Select 2024 wanted to both leave it all on the line, and that they did, as it came down to the final minutes and seconds in this one. Upstate Select was able to hold the narrow 2-point lead at halftime, led by balanced scoring with eight different players getting in the scoring column. Riptide was led by Will Googins early, while Greyson Kerr shot incredibly well from three early. Second half, both teams continued to make plays and it was a one or two basket game for much. Coming down in the end, Upstate Select was able to knock down free throws and make some key defensive stops to help secure the win and trophy.
