Going into Game 5, we had West Charlotte and Cannon on deck in what we hoped to be a thriller but one team came out extremely strong to start the game.  Cannon was able to get going early behind their trio of Swartz, Henry, and Birmingham, ultimately getting out to a 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. West Charlotte just couldn’t find success in finding the bottom of the basket, as they had a deep hole to get out of early.  Cannon didn’t let up though in the second quarter, as West Charlotte was eventually able to get on the board but not necessarily cut into the lead. Cannon was able to maintain their lead and build it up to 30 points in the third quarter.

Cannon continued its role into the fourth quarter, eventually expanding its lead to as many as 40 points, as this game was never really in doubt with Cannon eventually cruising to an 87-53 victory.

Final: Cannon 87 – West Charlotte 53
