This time last year, JP Moorman was just hoping for a few D1 scholarship offers. Fast forward to 2016 and he now has no shortage of offers and expect the list to continue to grow! On Thursday, JP Moorman received his 12th offer and it came from UAB of Conference USA. Moorman sports offers from Virginia Tech, Boston University, and VCU. In addition, he has offers from Charlotte, Richmond, College of Charleston, UNC-G, UCF, Presbyterian, UMES, and NC A&T.
It’s no secret that JP Moorman was the most improved player this past year in the state regardless of class. You have often heard us state, “It’s not where you start that’s important, but where you finish” and this quote is custom made for JP Moorman. Within the past year, Moorman stock skyrocketed and is now the no. 2 ranked player in the state for the 2017 class behind Lavar Batts of Concord Robinson.
Moorman has excellent size, athleticism and a matching skill set and may be one of the most versatile players in the state. He can play and guard multiple positions. We have been impressed with his ball handling and passing skills for his size/position and can easily transition into a “point forward” at the next level. Moorman plays with effort and energy and understands team defensive principles. More importantly, we love his competitive spirit on the court and knows how to make winning plays. In addition, Moorman has a 3.2 GPA at Greensboro Day School.
