AAU Coach Evaluation: Jamal has improved greatly since last season. His experience in AAU this summer has motivated him to work on all aspects of his game. He has become a nice post player with different moves with his back to the basket. He can also face up with a nice mid range jumper. He has added the 3ball to his arsenal as well. He is an incredible rebounder and has begun to maximize his 6’7 frame. Jamal dominates on the glass and has become a rebounding nightmare for opponents. He has improved as a rim protector and blocks shots regularly. Jamal has improved his ball handling abilities which allows him to push the ball in transition himself. Overall, Jamal has made great strides in his all around game which has become evident by some amazing numbers he has put up this season. He is a triple double waiting to happen every night. Look for him to have an incredible summer which should made his recruitment take off. He is very coachable and has a team first mentality. Every school needs bigs, but Jamal Frank can offer so much more than just height.

Coach Frank says: Jamal is an imposing figure and a dominant paint presence as his incredible statistics suggest. He is a fierce competitor and rebounds aggressively using not only his height and long arms (7’6” wingspan) but a great motor and work ethic. Jamal is extremely mobile and very athletic. He not only rebounds but plays very good position defense around the lane. Offensively he has a nice array of back to the basket moves, steps to the ball and can square up and hit shots as well. He has great hands and a nice touch around the rim. Jamal is not only a solid paint presence he can put the ball on the floor well enough to push it in transition and to create his shot off the bounce in the half court. He has good shot mechanics and can hit the three point jumper as well. He is working hard to improve his perimeter skills but at this level is a more than capable stretch four type and moving to the wing is certainly something you can see in his basketball future.
