Turner is rapidly turning from a support player on his team to its best player. Not to mention, as a sophomore the kid already carries Division 1 offers in both basketball and football.

Turner has consistently been a player on the radar. He is the younger brother of Charlotte Hornets starter, PJ Hairston. Tuner plays AAU with the Nike sponsored CP3 All-Stars and has a great frame that is full of length and athleticism.

Until this season though, Turner has taken a support role on these teams. In high school he is with Jalen Spicer and Reggie Davis. On the AAU circuit he plays with Rechon Black. However, Turner is no long taking on a support role, he is stepping up and ready to be the featured attraction. Phenom Hoops Analyst Rick Lewis wrote, “Tre Turner enjoyed an outstanding freshman year at Northwest Guilford and his stock, growth and improvement has continued to soar this past summer playing with CP3 “travel ball” basketball team.”

Northwest Guilford should be favored to make a run at the North Carolina 4A West title. They have five (5) players that are all college scholarship guys, and they are skilled, tough, young, and confident. That is typically a great mix for winning a lot of games. That said, it will probably be Turner that leads them in scoring.

After watching Turner at the Phenom High School Jamboree, Phenom Hoops Analyst Jamie Shaw wrote, “Each time I see Northwest Guilford’s Tre Turner he grows and inch and impacts the game more. Expect another big rankings boost.”

Turner also experienced a big season as a wide receiver on the football field this year. He picked up an offer from Duke, and their very pass happy offensive system. He carries an early basketball offer from Maryland Eastern Shore. Coaches from Virginia, Michigan, UNC Asheville, and Western Carolina have consistently been in the gym watching.

It is time to stop sleeping. Tre Turner is a main attraction
