6’8 Deuce Haynes (Providence Day)

Given the general value of big men, it’s surprising that Haynes hasn’t been a larger priority for scholarship-level coaches. He’s a mobile, low-maintenance post player who provides an extremely steady presence on both ends of the floor. Haynes is a capable finisher with the ability to score out of the post or position himself for drop-offs and offensive rebounds. He offers nice activity on the glass and shows a willingness to outwork opponents for extra possessions whenever possible. Haynes does a nice job of defending the post and altering shots defensively.
5’11 Nick Arnold (Davidson Day)

Although other guys on this roster probably receive more attention, Arnold is definitely someone who embraces doing whatever it takes to win. He’s a tough, heady floor general with a high IQ, sharp playmaking sense, and rugged defensive nature. Arnold is consistently one of the most impactful players on the court without necessarily needing to score. His unselfish, team-first mentality is evident in his approach to every possession. Arnold utilizes his pace and tight handle to reliably break down opponents, touch the paint, and score or set up others. He’s also a strong rebounder for his size/position.
5’10 Mike Jones (Moravian Prep)

It’s no secret that Moravian Prep has an abundance of talented pieces, and that certainly includes Jones. He’s an extremely quick, crafty guard who can score the ball in a variety of ways or set up others at a solid rate. Jones utilizes his first step to attack off the bounce and finish at the basket or assert himself in the midrange. He’s a willing playmaker and capable shooter who can make an impact with or without the ball in his hands. Jones is a scrappy defender who forces turnovers well and excels in transition.
6’11 Prince Nwokemodo (Forsyth Country Day)

As stated previously, someone like Nwokemodo should have a ton of appeal to college coaches. At 6-foot-11, he has legitimate size with mobility and a wiry frame. That being said, Nwokemodo is one of the most unselfish, low-maintenance players you’ll find at the high school level. He’s one of the few guys who truly embraces doing his job and providing anything necessary to give his team an edge. Nwokemodo plays with constant energy at all times. He runs the floor properly and positions himself well for drop-offs offensively. However, his length, timing, and nose for the ball make him a quality rebounder and exceptional rim-protector.
6’4 Kellum Brown (New Hanover)

Quietly having one of the most productive seasons in North Carolina, Brown continues to solidify himself as an obvious scholarship-level piece. He’s a smart, smooth, well-rounded wing with the size, skill, and athleticism to cause a lot of problems for opponents. Brown can fill it up in a variety of ways as a scorer, showing the ability to create his own shot, move without the ball, and find chances within the flow of the action. He applies consistent pressure from all levels and is comfortable taking what the defense gives him. Add in his defense, rebounding, and useful passing, and he should appeal to several types of programs.
