Rewinding back to the Seros Invitational last summer, one of the biggest storylines from the event was getting a chance to watch Team Takedown. A new program for us at Phenom Hoops, they were the talk of the event as they ended up taking home the championship.

Well, they are back on the Phenom Hoops platform this summer, and this will be a team you will want to check out. Underrated talent for college coaches, Team Takedown has a chance to make noise once again (but that wouldn’t surprise us at all after what we saw last year.)

We were able to catch up with the coaching staff for the team, as we look to shed early light on this roster in what they will be able showcase this summer.

Grady Ward – 5’11 PG – Fulton Science Academy
– A guard that can fill up the stat-sheet and bring value in several areas of the court. A lot of value to his team.

Luke Turney – 6’2 G – Fulton Science Academy
– High-IQ guard that can be a volume scorer; knows how to get to the basket well.

Beau Selby – 6’4 SF – Milton HS
– Smart player and could be one of the top shooters for this team; strong from behind the arc.

Tate Golden – 6’2 PG – Milton HS
– Swiss-army knife as a point guard; strong presence as a defender.

Garrett Lynch – 6’5 SF – Sprayberry HS
– Big-time rebounder and plays with a tremendous motor. Double-double type player for this team.

Abel Trotman – 5’11 PG – Sprayberry HS
– Elite quickness and creates well, strong scorer and facilitator.

Carson Kelly – 6’8 PF – Kings Ridge Christian School
– Strong defender and controls the paint well. Active inside, on the glass, and as a shot-blocker.

Ernest Jones – 6’6 PG – Rockdale HS
– New player but plays with relentless energy, unselfish, and just does what is needed for his team.

Andrew Tembo – 6’5 SF – College Achieve Prep
– Ultimate glue guy for this team, explosive on the court, and a strong frame. Another player who impacts the game in a variety of ways.

Make sure you check out Team Takedown with Phenom Hoops this season, as this is a team that brings value and talent to the court. You can check out more of what was said about a few players last season.

What Was Said:

“Intrigued by 6’7 ‘27 Carson Kelly (Team Takedown) and his variety of flashes. Showing touch, defensive instincts, and activity on the glass. Possesses an array of appealing physical tools. Doesn’t need touches to impact the game.”

“2027 Abel Troman (Team Takedown) is a quick guard with strong handles, picking his spots, attacking downhill, making plays off the bounce for himself and others, and found ways to get to the line.”

“2027 Tate Golden (Team Takedown) was the hero today to send his team to the Championship game. With a tied game, Golden was able to hit the game-winning three here on Day 2.”
