Player: Ephriam Moore
Class: 2028
School: Beaumont United
Phenom Hoops continues to pride itself on shedding light on young prospects all around the country, learning new names and their games. One player that many will be having their eyes on as he continues to develop is 2028 big man Ephriam Moore, as he had a big early summer and it may just be the start of his recruitment.
Game Description:
The next wave of talent will be starting to roll in, and a big man to keep an eye on is 2028 6’8 Ephriam Moore who suited up for JL3 this past summer. He was an absolute force down in the paint and really carved out a name for himself among many, as we looked to learn more about his game.
“First, rim-protecting and running the floor hard, and try to simply outrebound everybody on the court.”
As far as his focus and what he is continuing to work on with his game, Moore is looking to expand his game a bit more as a big man. “Mostly ball-handling and my mid-range shot. I’m trying to expand my game so it will be hard to double-team me.”
Though he is part of the Class of 2028 and just STARTING his high school career, Moore had a tremendous start to his career and was able to blossom as a young prospect with JL3. Not only was this a strong program overall, but Moore was excited to get his name out and about early on.
“I think I did well. I got a lot of write-ups on me and as far as my team, we were ranked No. 1 in our region and No. 4 in the country going into Peach Jam. I was able to show that I have more to my game other than back to the basket.”
When Phenom caught up with Moore to learn more about his game, we always like to ask who they like to model their game after. He said that he likes to model his game after Kevin Garnett and Michael Beasley.
Early Recruitment and Preparing for Freshman Season:
You don’t see too many young prospects pulling in strong offers early on, but Moore announced earlier that LSU was his first Division I offer, one that he is excited about.
“It felt great to get that offer (from LSU). It shows that all the hard work that I put in on and off the court is paying off.”
That list should only continue to grow as he enters his freshman season at Beaumont United, as new challenges face him ahead but also will test him in where his game is as well as show he could be one of the top young talents in his class.
“The new challenge of going up against bigger, faster, and stronger players to show that it doesn’t matter, I can play against them all and just to stay hungry and keep getting better.”
