Coach: LaTavia Dixon
#1: 5’2 ’29 Hayden Robinson (Wilson)

Starting off, Hayden Robinson is a 5-foot-2 prospect in the Class of 2029. Despite being the smallest camper on this team, she made a lasting impression with her high motor and pesky defensive presence. Robinson is a tough, quick lead guard with terrific IQ and an unselfish approach to the game. She’s a solid ball-handler who displayed the ability to touch the paint and finish or locate open teammates. However, so much of Robinson’s value comes through her scrappy defensive presence at the point of attack. Next in her development process is working on the use of her off-hand, as it would make her a more complete player. Coach Dixon on Robinson: “Hayden is a very good defender. Really knows how to shut down opposing guards as an on-ball defender. Great team player. Operates with constant energy and is willing to do anything to give her team an edge.” Robinson enjoyed a quality showing at camp and will be a prospect to monitor for Wilson over the coming years.
#9: 5’4 ’29 Mara Cyphert (Apex Friendship)

Next, Mara Cyphert is a 5-foot-4 prospect in the Class of 2029. Given the value of perimeter shooting, it didn’t take long for her to stand out with this group. Cyphert is a knockdown shooter from midrange and beyond the arc. She moves really well without the ball to find open seams within the defense and capitalize on spot-up opportunities. Cyphert does a great job of operating within the flow of the action and making the extra pass when available. She utilizes her quickness well to keep opponents in front defensively. Next in her development process is working to become a craftier ball-handler, as it would make her a more reliable threat when attacking closeouts. Coach Dixon on Cyphert: “Mara is a very good shooter who consistently hits shots from beyond the arc. She has an understanding of where to be. Smart player. Cuts well without the ball and sets good screens.” Cyphert made her presence felt throughout camp and should be able to emerge as a key piece for Apex Friendship going forward.
#10: 5’5 ’29 Eleanor Cheng (East Chapel Hill)

Next, Eleanor Cheng is a 5-foot-5 prospect in the Class of 2029. Between her motor, unselfishness, and low-maintenance approach, she found nice success on both ends of the floor. Cheng highlighted nonstop energy, especially on defense, and consistently outworked opponents to make hustle plays. She displays a quick first step, which allows her to keep opposing guards in front at the point of attack. Cheng also prioritized getting back in transition on opposing fast-break opportunities. Next in her development process is working on the use of her off-hand, as it would make her a more complete player. Coach Dixon on Cheng: “Eleanor is a good defender and great team player. She does a good job of playing with energy and toughness, but needs to work on expanding her overall offensive game. Improving her understanding of spacing would be beneficial.” Cheng worked hard during her time at camp and will be a piece to watch emerge for East Chapel Hill over the coming years.
#14: 5’7 ’29 Layla Edwards (Wilson Prep)

Next, Layla Edwards is a 5-foot-7 prospect in the Class of 2029. She’s a quick, heady guard who knows how to impact the game with or without the ball in her hands. Edwards is a nice penetrator with the craftiness to break down opponents off the bounce, touch the paint, and set up others. She’s a capable finisher and shooting threat along the perimeter. Edwards is a pesky defender who forces turnovers and contains her assignment well. Next in her development process is working on her ability to move without the ball, as it would allow her to find more scoring chances as a cutter and spot-up threat. Coach Dixon on Edwards: “Layla is a small, quick guard with useful ability on both ends of the floor. She needs to make herself more available on the offensive side, which will come through improving her ability to move without the ball. Good defender. Very coachable.” Edwards made a quality impact throughout camp and should be a difference-maker for Wilson Prep over the foreseeable future.
#53: 5’7 ’29 Jayden Woodland (NC GBB)

Next, Jayden Woodland is a 5-foot-7 prospect in the Class of 2029. She possesses an incredibly appealing blend of skill, instincts, and physical tools. Woodland is capable of doing everything on the court. She’s a smart, polished guard with great size and the versatility to operate in various roles. Woodland is a quality creator, both for herself and others, who mixes it up well as a scorer from all levels. She hit jumpers, touched the paint, and finished or located open shooters along the perimeter. Woodland rebounds really well for her size and is comfortable switching across multiple positions defensively. Next in her development process is working on playing with consistent energy, as it would make her an even more impactful player. Coach Dixon on Woodland: “Jayden is clearly one of the best guards in attendance. She has so many favorable tools. Physical, athletic, and skilled. Three-level scorer!” Woodland proved to be an asset during camp and will be a prospect to watch emerge for NC GBB going forward.
#54: 5’8 ’29 Samira Shands (NC GBB)

Next, Samira Shands is a 5-foot-8 prospect in the Class of 2029. Given all the ways she’s able to impact a game, it’s easy to appreciate what Shands brings to a team. Offensively, she’s a capable shooter and creator, but really shines through her ability to finish around the basket. Shands utilizes her quick first step to reliably get downhill and attack off the dribble. Shands is also a tenacious defender who can mirror opposing ball-handlers and force turnovers at a strong rate. Next in her development process is working on her ability to move without the ball, as it would make her a more complete player. Coach Dixon on Shands: “Samira is a small guard who does a great job of finishing around the basket. Great on-ball defender with a strong understanding of defensive principles. Great in transition. Speedy, yet knows how to play with pace as a creator.” Shands highlighted a lot of appealing qualities at camp and will be a useful piece for NC GBB over the coming years.
#62: 5’9 ’29 Alliyah Hairston (Ardrey Kell)

Next, Alliyah Hairston is a 5-foot-9 prospect in the Class of 2029. She highlighted an array of intangibles and physical tools while showing her ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor. Hairston is a reliable creator and playmaker whose tight handle, high IQ, and vision allow her to consistently create shots for herself and others. She displays nice balance between setting up others and applying scoring pressure from all levels. Hairston is also a terrific defender and rebounder. Next in her development process is working on her shooting consistency off the dribble, as it would make her even more difficult for opponents to contain. Coach Dixon on Hairston: “Alliyah is a very athletic and aggressive guard. She’s really quick and attacks hard off the bounce. Displays great court vision and three-level scoring ability. Alliyah is a point guard who simply understands the game. Coachable and a great team player.” Hairston made a lasting impression during her time at camp and has the tools to emerge as a key piece for Ardrey Kell going forward.
#71: 5’11 ’29 Azaaria Burks (Jack Britt)

Next, Azaaria Burks is a 5-foot-11 prospect in the Class of 2029. She’s a long, athletic, highly versatile piece who simply knows how to affect all facets of the game. Burks displays excellent feel, motor, and unselfishness. She consistently suffocates multiple positions defensively and outworks others for rebounds and extra possessions. Burks utilizes her length and anticipation extremely well to force turnovers, both on and off the ball. Offensively, Burks displayed the ability to create for herself and others while scoring in a variety of ways. She excels at getting downhill but also knocks down jumpers at a quality rate. Next in her development process is working on getting stronger, as it would make her an even more physically imposing player. Coach Dixon on Burks: “Azaaria is a very skilled, lengthy player with great speed in the open floor. Excellent rebounder. She has a great attitude. Probably the best lengthy guard here. Can play four positions comfortably.” Burks proved to be an asset throughout camp and should be a focal point at Jack Britt going forward.
#131: 6’0 ’29 Kaydann Joseph (Greensboro Day)

Finishing up, Kaydann Joseph is a 6-foot-0 prospect in the Class of 2029. She displayed a clear understanding of how to utilize her size to cause problems for opponents on both ends of the floor. Joseph is a capable finisher and midrange shooter, but arguably made her strongest impact as a rebounder and interior defender. She carves out space extremely well around the basket to control the glass and outwork opponents for extra possessions. Joseph also displays nice timing as a shot-blocker. Next in her development process is working on the use of her off-hand, as it would make her a better finisher around the basket. Coach Dixon on Joseph: “Kaydann has a great body to play in the post. She does a great job of rebounding and finishing around the basket. Runs the floor well in transition. Protects the basket really well on the defensive side of the ball.” Joseph did a lot of things well during her time at camp and should be a difference-maker for Greensboro Day over the coming years.
#137: 6’0 ’30 Cayden Hill (NC GBB)

Next, Cayden Hill is a 6-foot-0 prospect in the Class of 2029. Given her status as one of the youngest campers on display, it was easy to see her appeal. Hill possesses legit size with an array of enticing physical tools. She’s already capable of finishing around the basket and playing through contact on both ends of the floor. Hill displays flashes of perimeter skill and floor-spacing ability, but also capitalizes on a ton of second-chance opportunities through her strong rebounding presence. She utilizes her size well to defend the post. Next in her development process is working on getting quicker, as it would make her a better defender when switching onto smaller perimeter players. Coach Dixon on Hill: “Cayden is a nice-sized post with great rebounding instincts. Can expand and play on the wing, but needs to understand not to dribble in single gap. Can space the floor and will be good as a stretch four.” Hill highlighted a lot of intrigue during camp and has the tools to be a prospect worth noting for NC GBB.
