It is the start of the month of June and Phenom Hoops is INCREDIBLY excited about putting on the JMAC Showcase this weekend! High-level teams will be coming to the Fort Mill area, looking to compete and gear themselves up for a big few upcoming months.

So, lets start looking at a few teams and players to watch for this weekend. Here are a few names to look out for.

Team: Team200

Deon Harvey Jr. “DJ”
2024/ Guard

High School Team: Christ Church Episcopal School (Greenville, SC)
DJ played varsity as a 7th grader alongside John Butler (2021) at Christ Church Episcopal School. Phenom did a write up on him earlier this year in Columbia, SC in a high school event. Nybl also has him as one if the top guards In the state. He is a do it all player. He scores from all 3 levels. He’s a knockdown shooter with range & has a strong back to the basket game. He creates havoc every time he enters the lane. He defends 1-5 in his age group. He controls the pace and the best part of his game is his unselfishness. As his confidence grows so will his game.

There’s no doubt that this team belongs to John Butler, but it’s nice to see seventh-grader DJ Harvey already making contributions on varsity. He’s a small, scrappy guard prospect that handles the ball and looks to create havoc however possible. It’ll be interesting to see how he develops going forward, as he’s already getting an abundance of repetitions.
