One of the top players in South Carolina has continued to see his stock rise this summer, as 2024 DJ Shine has not only added more offers to his list but there are plenty of schools that have been reaching out his way.  Shine has been a star on the Phenom Hoops platform before, with him performing incredibly well at the Phenom SC Top 80.  Learn more about his game and what we saw at the event, but also the latest in his recruitment.

What Was Said Before:

“2024 DJ Shine from Augusta Christian is a player that we continue to come across and he simply continues to produce on the court.  The 6’0 guard already holds offers but more could be looking his way, especially with the mentality he plays with.  At the South Carolina Top 80, he continued to show his scoring ability, averaging 15.7 points per game. When you talk about his game, Shine is a guard that shows his ability to hit big shot after big shot, creating space for himself, making plays off the dribble, and being a threat from multiple levels. Whether it is getting downhill and finishing over opponents, pulling up and knocking down shots, or showing his range. Shine has good speed and creates well for himself and others.”

Recruitment Update:

It wasn’t long ago when we talked about Shine and he was holding an offer from Western Carolina a, but his recruitment has continued to rise over the last few months.  He has added offers from Mercer and Queens, but there have been plenty of other schools expressing interest his way. We spoke to him more about it.

“Everything has been going well,” Shine told Phenom Hoops.  “I’ve been playing really well this summer. I’ve been offered by Mercer and Queens, but have been on the phone weekly with Iona, Winthrop, Murray State, UNCG, Appalachian State, Wofford, Indiana State, Georgia Southern, South Alabama, Dartmouth, USC Upstate, and Kennesaw State.”

He also entered the Rivals Top 150 list, and he is hoping that his stock will only continue to rise this July.
