The Phenom Hoop State Fall League has once again proven to be a platform where talent shines and hidden prospects make their names known. Each weekend, new players step into the spotlight, showcasing skills that deserve recognition from fans, media, and college coaches alike. While the headlines may often go to the established stars, it’s the under-the-radar performers who continue to impress and raise their stock. In this series, we highlight a group of players who stood out with their play and could be on the verge of bigger things. Here are a few hidden gems from the Fall League that you’ll want to keep a close eye on moving forward.

2026 Jack Siegel (Frat Boys)

Siegel has proven time after time that he could be a hidden gem for a program down the road. He passes the eye test with his size at 6’5, his IQ and feel, and his ability to be a consistent scorer. Siegel understands his ability to make the right decision, seeing the floor and playing with the offense, but also to be a shot-maker on the court. He consistently can get to his spots and rise up from multiple levels, but also uses his size well to body through defenders to score.

2027 Braden Miller (Lake Boys)

As we recently said, this could be a real eye-opening season for Miller in showing more about his game. With him now being the guy down low at Lake Norman, Miller has taken full advantage of his opportunities in showing his fluidity, his feel, and his touch down in the paint. Miller does a great job in sealing down in the paint, getting to his spots, and showing strong footwork and feel in scoring around defenders, especially with a soft touch.  However, he also excels with his presence on the glass, running in transition, and helping control the paint defensively.

2026 Lajalin Overton (Mavericks)

I truly love what Overton brings to the court for his team.  There may not be a player who plays harder than he does, as he brings a non-stop motor and just finds ways to be all over the place.  He has the strength and athleticism that will wow you, finishing strong and powerful at the rim, but is also comfortable in operating from the perimeter at times.  He attacks the glass, looks to bring physicality to the floor, and just runs all over the place on the defensive side; he has no issue in putting his body on the line for his team.

2026 Carter Abernethy (NL Knights)

Abernethy was a newer name for me personally and after Week 2, he showed me all that I needed to know, proving that he is a player that can play at the next level.  A strong, well-built prospect, he showcased the ability to impact the game in multiple ways. With his size and frame, Abernathy excelled at attacking downhill, finishing through contact, and creating opportunities for himself. He also demonstrated a versatile scoring package—knocking down shots with range, creating separation, and converting off the catch. His consistent production stood out, and he’s certainly a player that college coaches should be paying much closer attention to moving forward.
