Getting to Know: Kyle Frazier
Phenom Hoops travelled down to Carolina Courts in Indian Trail to cover CC Elite “Skills and Drills” camp. Coach James Fisher and staff did a wonderful job of conducting stations of skill development in the era of COVID-19. Before we get started, we must compliment James Fisher-Davis, Kurt Wessler, Mike Jefferson, and Hillis Haygood for practicing all the health and safety protocols for COVID-19. Upon entering the building, every person had their temperature taken and documented on a “sign in” sheet. Hand sanitizer was also made available upon check in. The basketballs were wiped down with a disinfectant and all the coaches wore masks the entire time while the players practiced social distancing.

Last season, Frazier averaged 11.5 PPG, 6.3 RPG, and 1.5 APG for Weddington High School. In addition, he maintained an even more impressive 4.0 GPA. The cerebral and high IQ guard impressed us with his tremendous work ethic at CC Elite’s Skills and Drills Camp and we could easily see why Frazier earned First Team All Conference honors.
While Frazier currently doesn’t hold any offers, he is getting interest from Princeton and Winthrop, where he has attend both school’s Elite Camp. With the loss of Cade Tyson, Frazier will be asked to be the team’s vocal leader along with additional scoring responsibilities. Frazier has outstanding shooting fundamentals, mechanics, and follow through. Last season, Frazier shot an impressive 42% from the 3-point line.
Coach James Fisher-Davis stated, “Frazier is self-motivated and brings both offensive and defensive versatility.” From our perspective, Frazier is a self-made player who focuses on hard work and genuine love for the game. We simply came away impressed with his tremendous work ethic and attention to every small detail during stations and skill development.
While he will only be a junior this coming season, we fully expect Frazier to be Coach Gary Ellington’s “Go To” scorer. He will be asked to score and has the ability to score from all three levels. In addition, Frazier is a solid ball handler and can also transition into the team’s secondary ball handler and floor general. HUDL Highlights: https://www.hudl.com/v/2DXZJ4
