We’ve seen a lot of players come through our doors over the years, varying in appearance, skill level, and everything in between. We decided to put forth a “Getting to Know” series on some players who have attended events over the past few years but still remain on the lesser-known side of things. Each of these prospects embody being a student-athlete and getting it done in the classroom as well as on the basketball court, and today’s edition will take a closer look at Jeremiah Manley of Ragsdale High School.

Under the grassroots umbrella, recognition and opportunity often go hand in hand with recruitment. That being said, Manley hasn’t necessarily been awarded a lot of opportunities to showcase his abilities thus far. Still learning how to maximize his role with Ragsdale, Manley is a player that works to continually improve and add to his overall skillset. He stands 5-foot-10 but offers quickness and scrappiness from the guard position with the ability to create and effectively knock down jumpers from the perimeter. Manley understands how to operate alongside another primary ball-handler and can pick his spots within the flow of the team.

Off the court, Manley maintains a 3.5 GPA and shows prioritization of his classroom studies. He looks likely to keep adding strength while developing his overall identity as a basketball player. The opportunity should arise for him to see an expanded role next season, which could allow his game to take the next step. Though it’s still early, Manley could be one for college coaches to keep an eye on going forward, especially if he continues to work.
