Continuing to highlight players throughout the college basketball landscape, it is never too early to recognize a freshman that is starting his career off extremely well. Cade Tyson, a 6’7 prospect from Carmel Christian and who was a Top-10 prospect by Phenom Hoops, has been having a tremendous start to his college basketball career, and Bruins’ fans should be excited about his future.
Though it is just six games in, Tyson has been quite impressive and receiving big minutes for a freshman. On the season, Tyson is averaging an impressive 14.1 points per game, 4.1 rebounds, and shooting 50 percent from the floor and 50 percent from three. He is second on the team in points per game and is averaging nearly 29 minutes per game as a young prospect.
Tyson has quickly proven himself to be a huge piece for Belmont early, which is why the coaching staff made him such a priority in high school. Tyson is showing just how effective and smooth he can be as a player and a scorer. When Tyson was in high school, Phenom Hoops had countless times to watch his game.
“Tyson’s ability to score the ball in a variety of ways makes him a matchup nightmare; his ability to be a big 3-point threat, to put it on the deck and create for himself, use his size to finish strong and get on the boards, and his overall IQ on the court makes it easy to see why so many regard him as one of the top prospects in the state.” – 2021
