It was a tremendous weekend as far as talent at Bermuda Run (NC), as big-time names from around the region came to compete for a championship. There was plenty of talent to watch, yet one of the most exciting players to watch was 2027 5’10 Colt Fowler for Super Friendz and Byrnes High School (SC).
Fowler is such an interesting and intriguing point guard who has a blend of skill and feel. When watching him operate, the 5’10 point guard displays an uncanny feel for the game that simply excites you. He has an exceptional feel with the ball in his hands, being a true leader on the floor, and understanding how to be a legit playmaker for himself and others. Fowler excels in transition and has a tremendous blend of quickness, handles, and court awareness, knowing where teammates will be, having a terrific touch in setting up teammates, and also being an effective scorer on the court. He makes the right plays at the right times, whether it is driving and kicking, finding his bigs down low, or simply creating scoring opportunities for himself. It is hard not to be a fan of his game, especially with the excitement he brings in running the show. There is no doubt about it; Fowler has opened many eyes to his game this summer, and more college programs should take notice.
Recruitment Update:
Fowler has had a strong summer overall, picking up four Division I offers from Georgia Southern, Presbyterian, Charleston Southern, Weber State, and Wofford. All have been intrigued with his “skill set, IQ, and feel for the game.” RIght now, Fowler hasn’t been able to set up any visits, but other schools could start entering the mix. In speaking with Fowler recently, he mentioned that Liberty, Appalachian State, Furman, Clemson, and South Carolina have all expressed interest. Out of them, he would say Liberty and Appalachian State have been the strongest, and that he also has an interest in visiting Clemson and South Carolina down the road if possible.

“In a gym full of highly touted prospects and guys with legitimate pro potential, Colt Fowler was arguably the most exciting and electric player on display. There are point guards, and then there’s Fowler. He’s a brilliant playmaker who displays a unique combination of speed, vision, and control to relentlessly dismantle opposing defenses. Fowler has a tight, crafty handle and incredibly sharp first step that he utilizes to break down anyone standing in his way. He’s more than capable of filling it up as a scorer from all levels, yet clearly prioritizes making the right play and setting up others as often as possible. Fowler truly sees the entire floor at all times and highlights incredible precision on every single pass. His understanding of angles, timing, and defensive rotations is extremely impressive. Not only does Fowler shine as a leader by example, but he also visibly elevates everyone on his team. Whether in the half-court or open floor, he’s able to consistently generate clean looks for himself and others. On the other end, Fowler is a defensive pest with the ability to reliably contain his assignment and terrific anticipation for forcing turnovers. It’s uncommon to see a player at his size dominate the game, especially without needing to score, but that’s exactly what Fowler did. Expect him to stockpile Division I offers going forward.”
