Lady Phenom was on deck for a terrific event out in Charlotte, as we were able to check out teams and players at the Carolina Rise HS Summer Showcase. Everywhere you looked, there was talent to be found and had a great chance to get an early view of teams. One player that we walked away from incredibly impressed with was 2025 Jocelyne Grier.

Grier is a dynamic guard and though this is our first truly viewing her game, it didn’t take long for us to realize her potential and how dynamic of a prospect she is. When watching her, she was incredible with the ball in her hands. She was outstanding in creating and attacking out in transition, showcasing how crafty and shifty she can be with the ball in her hands, as well as being able to create her own scoring opportunities. Time after time, she was able to create off the bounce, get by defenders, and get paint touches, but she also made strong decisions in finding her teammates as well if she couldn’t score. However, she also showed she can hurt you inside and out, displaying range with her shot time after time.

Grier’s burst of speed, her craftiness with the ball in her hands, her scoring ability, and how dynamic of a playmaker she was on the court, she is one that deserves and should have more eyes her way.  Right now, she holds offers from Appalachian State, North Carolina A&T, Queens, and Virginia Union.  But after watching her, she should have college programs all over her and that list should only continue to grow quickly.
