There is just so much talent throughout the state of North Carolina, and Phenom Hoops is wanting to shed some light on a few players who not only have shown they can get it done on the court but are also big-time prospects on the football field. They are already getting offers and looks on the field, but these are a few players that have shown they can be prospects on the basketball court.

2026 Kendre Harrison (Reidsville)

Football Offers: East Carolina, NC State, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Oregon, Penn State, Old Dominion, Louisville, Wake Forest

Harrison is quickly garnering a ton of attention on the football as a 6’7 prospect as a TE, but this is a young man that can absolutely play on the basketball court. Harrison is a very skilled forward who has a strong, physical feel, has good footwork in the paint, and can be an absolute force on the glass.  He finishes at the rim extremely well and brings that physical feel down low.

2025 Bryce Baker (Walkertown)

Football Offers: Wake Forest, Louisville, James Madison, Appalachian State, NC State

Baker is one that we have featured a lot on our platform with his play on the court, but he is also a very strong football quarterback at Walkertown as well. The dual-sport prospect has played exceptionally well in both sports, but when it comes to basketball, Baker continues to show his scoring impact, his ability to make plays off the bounce, be a willing passer, and use his size, motor, and athleticism to his advantage.

2025 Shamarius Peterkin (Mount Tabor)

Football Offers: Charlotte, Appalachian State, Campbell, Coastal Carolina, Louisville, Maryland, James Madison, Duke, NC State

Peterkin is a player that is showing that he could be a player both on the field and basketball court. He holds several offers already with his play on the field, but on the court, Peterkin is looking like a big-time prospect as well. He presents great size, bounce in his game, and is an absolute dynamic playmaker on the court. Smooth, fluid, and can score the ball from all over the court.

2023 Daevin Hobbs (Robinson)

Football Commit: Tennessee

Hobbs is regarded as one of the top prospects on the football field, regarded by many as a 5-star prospect that will be heading to Tennessee.  But we also wanted to shed light on his impact on the basketball court, because Hobbs showed that he could be a D1 basketball prospect. He is an absolute monster in the post, using his strong frame to bully defenders, score through contact, and fill it up on the boards.

2025 Jerron Blackwell (Page)

Football Offers: Louisville

Blackwell is another dual-sport athlete that brings a ton of versatility on the field and court. Though his recruitment is just starting on the football field, he has also shown that he can produce on the basketball court. He is a smart, strong, playmaking prospect that does a great job in getting downhill and finishing through defenders. He also shows a willingness to defend as well. Blackwell certainly makes his presence felt on both ends, and on the football field and court.
