Virginia has long established itself as one of the premier recruiting hotbeds for college programs, consistently producing prospects who make an impact at the next level. The tradition of high-level talent remains alive and well in the Class of 2027, where the depth of skill, size, and athleticism across the state is already turning heads. While plenty of names have already gained early recognition, there are still players flying slightly under the radar who deserve a closer look. These are prospects with the tools, upside, and production to warrant more attention from programs—and it’s only a matter of time before their stock begins to rise.

2027 6’3 Jordan Hunter (Hargrave Military)
Hunter was one that we were really impressed with when he was playing with Lab U, as the young guard was able to flourish with veterans all around him. He showed poise and confidence as a creator and overall offensive weapon. Hunter displayed the ability to score in a variety of ways—attacking off the bounce, finishing through contact at the rim, and using his touch to convert over defenders. Offensively, he can be relied on to create his own looks while also providing value without the ball in his hands. Physically, Hunter brings a strong frame paired with the size, skill, and athleticism to thrive in multiple roles. Defensively, his tools and activity allow him to be an impact presence, further rounding out his game. With his versatility and ability to produce, Hunter is a prospect worth tracking closely. He already has earned a few offers from programs with a strong summer, but that list should only increase quickly.

2027 6’9 Keaton Gregory (Trinity Episcopal)
Gregory is a long, wiry big man who thrives with a steady, efficient presence on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he can be a good finisher with soft touch around the basket and the awareness to operate within the flow of the offense. He excels in the two-man game, being able to set strong screens and showing the versatility to either roll hard to the rim or pop out to stretch the defense. His length and motor make him an active rebounder on both ends, while his timing allows him to alter and block shots at a consistent rate. Add in his ability to run the floor in transition, and Gregory continues to check boxes as a clear Division I prospect with plenty of upside for the future.

2027 6’3 Troy Tomlin (Paul VI)
Tomlin is a player who could get more looks his way but he also had a strong summer overall with Team Loaded. The 6’3 prospect was able to secure two strong D1 offers but is a guard that could catch more eyes this upcoming season. When you hear people talk about his game, his athleticism is something that stands out quickly as well as his energy on either side of the ball. Tomlin does a great job in attacking and getting downhill, looking to finish at the rim with authority, but also has a skill set that allows him to be an effective option from a variety of other levels. He can knock down shots comfortably outside and plays with a strong motor on the defensive end. Disruptive, strong energy, and one that simply finds ways to change the game on either side of the ball with his activity. He holds offers from Chattanooga and Duquesne, but he could garner more attention down the road.
