6’7 2024 Cal Barrett (Bishop McGuinness)

A prospect I was able to catch at the tail-end of the day, Cal Barrett is a promising, wiry, shot-altering forward. Barrett has shown an ability to step out behind the three point line and knock down catch-and-shoot jumpers, along with his current niche on the defensive end. Barrett will anchor this team’s disciplined approach on defense, given his abilities to reject and alter shots at a higher rate than anyone else on this roster. Will love to see his development over the course of the next year.

6’9 2023 Torey Alston (Winston Salem Christian School)

Oozes with entice, Alston a long, mobile forward with the ability to cover a great deal of ground in a short amount of time. Aside from being a valuable asset in transition given his reach, Alston has instinctual use of his length and does a nice job fully extending when attacking the rim. Solid slasher who is liable to see a change in his recruitment with patience.

6’2 2023 Keyon Webb (Quality Education)

A player that constantly receives raving reviews for his facilitative prowess, Keyon Webb sees the floor very well. On fastbreaks, the true floor general plays with patience, pace, and awareness. Keeps his head up and on a swivel at all times, fits passes through tight spaces. While I wouldn’t consider Webb a knock down shooter, he’s proven his competence from both the midrange as well as behind the arc. Will serve a college program very well.

6’4 2023 Julius Harrison (Piedmont Classical)

Possibly the most transferable piece on this roster as far as college play is concerned, Julius impressed in a multitude of ways. Shows that he has the scoring capabilities to serve as the number one option amongst a group of scorers. Does a good job of getting to the rim and knocking down pull ups of screens. I believe that he’s capable of numerous games this season where he eclipses 20 points if he chooses to.

6’6 2023 Khalif Barnes (Piedmont Classical)

One of the more powerful interior forces I watched today, Barnes cements himself around the basket. He uses his mature frame to box out opponents for rebounds, and seal smaller defenders in one the low block. Barnes showed the ability to elevate off vertical when on the receiving end of dump passes.

6’7 2024 Mason Smith (Hough)

Mason Smith is going to be such a reliable catalyst for this team’s success this season. Along with his willingness to assume the responsibility of a defensive anchor, Smith is a reliable rebounder that moves well off the ball, putting himself in position to score from 15-feet and in. I believe his scoring capabilities will only continue to improve with time, and in the meantime he’ll carve out production for himself through high IQ play and utilization of his size.
