6’5 2022 Josh Scovens (Greensboro Page)
One of the most impressive players of the day, Scovens presents a blend of length, defensive potential, and athleticism that shows well at the high school level. Scovens demands attention from all opposing defenses from start to finish. Boasts length that aids him on the defensive end, and is athletic enough to challenge defenders at the rim at will.
5’9 2023 Riggs Handy (Bishop McGuinness)
Handy is a talented shooter that embodies the style of play that I’ve long-associated with Bishop McGuinness. He’s a confident perimeter shooter, showing the ability to get hit from deep consistently. Handy knocked down 6 triples en route to a 20 point performance this morning. I’d expect him to play a significant role for this group this season,
6’2 2025 Jerron Blackwell (Greensboro Page)
Blackwell is a very impressive guard that carries the presence of a player older than he is. He’s able to get to the rim with authority, allowing him to find the free throw line consistently. He converted at the line efficiently all day, and showed signs of a player who it’ll be imperative to watch over the years.
6’5 2023 Davis Wagner (Lake Norman).
Wagner will be one of the focal point of this team’s overall success, as he contributes on both ends. Wagner has nice size on the wing, with the size to play on the interior and confident shooting to go along with it. Today, he provided rebounding, interior defense, and perimeter scoring.
6’5 2025 Zacch Wiggins (Grimsley).
Coming off a strong summer playing with CP3 2025, Wiggins enters his first season with elite length for a freshman in high school. He plays above the rim and is already showing promise creating his own shot off the bounce. Guy to track long term, as his physical intangibles, athleticism and confidence all point in a positive direction.
2022 6’2 Aly Wadkovsky (Lake Norman Womens)
Aly is such a reliable interior option for a team that possesses intriguing talent. The Elon-signee asserts herself in the low post, and makes great use of her size when attacking the glass. I believe she’ll continue to prove herself as a commodity this season, considering few teams will have the interior size to rival her own. Wadkovsky plays with a high motor on defense as well as soft hands on the inside.
6’2 2023 Bryson Davis (Mallard Creek)
Bryson is an intelligent combo guard with a solid build for the high school game. One of the most talented guards I saw today, Davis will be one of the clear leaders in the final stage’s of Mallard Creek’s rebuild toward constant competitiveness. He constantly showed the ability to get into the lane and knock down floaters, presenting himself as the most talented overall player on this team.
