Four-star combo guard Joe Sterling (Class of 2026, Harvard-Westlake HS, Encino CA) has officially committed to Texas Longhorns men’s basketball. Sterling, a high-level perimeter scorer and playmaker, chose the Longhorns from among several strong options including New Mexico and Northern Iowa.
Sterling brings exceptional shooting range, poise, and feel for the game to Austin. At 6′4″ with a strong frame, he’s proven capable of scoring from all three levels while also making plays for others. His ability to knock down catch-and-shoot jumpers, probe off the bounce, and consistently make the right reads sets him apart.
On the defensive end, Sterling’s length and instincts allow him to guard multiple perimeter spots, apply pressure on the ball, and create turnovers. His steady handle, advanced vision, and competitiveness make him well-suited for the Longhorns’ next chapter. Texas adds a dynamic backcourt piece with high upside and early impact potential.
