Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Brandon Gardner
Class: 2023
Committed to: St. John’s

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

“Although he’s already quite talented and productive, there’s plenty of reason to think that Gardner will only continue to trend upward over the coming years. He’s long, skilled, and athletic with an active motor and the ability to create havoc on either end of the floor. Gardner displays useful versatility and can effectively operate in various different roles. He can rebound, block shots, defend inside or along the perimeter, and make plays in transition. Gardner can post-up, attack off the bounce, or find opportunities within the flow of the action. Basically, this entire Word of God program is getting recruited by a variety of programs—and Gardner should be no different.”

“Think that was one of the better overall performances, personally, I saw from Gardner this year. Loved his activity on the boards, his assertiveness at the rim, showcasing his big-time athleticism and length to finish strong at the basket. He also made plays as a rim protector and on the boards. Strong showing from the junior forward in a big-time game.”

“As many said throughout the day… welcome Brandon Gardner to the Hoop State; it certainly won’t be the last time you hear his name.  There aren’t too many players at his size, with his athleticism and power, with his quick second-bounce, and just how agile he is on the court. A true difference-maker on both ends and it is easy to see why so many high-major schools are coming his way.”

“Talk about a freak athlete with size, as Gardner is going to bring a big presence down low, on the boards, and with his mobility, he can operate from multiple levels.”

“What don’t you like about 2023 Brandon Gardner (WOG). Incredibly athletic forward, can rip the rim off but also has shown his ability to make plays outside; runs the floor well. Can be a huge difference-maker on the defensive end in being a rim protector.”
