Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Caleb Farrish
Class: 2021
Committed to: Guilford

What the Player Said:

Phenom: What ultimately went into your decision to commit to Guilford'
Farrish: I just felt the most wanted there.  Coach Parker and Coach Palombo saw a lot in me and felt like I could contribute to their program.

Phenom: How did you inform the program and what did they say when they learned about your decision'
Farrish: I told Coach Parker that I was ready to be a Quaker.  Then, we sat on the phone, he congratulated me, then we discussed the process.  He also introduced me to some of the team.

Phenom: What do you think you can bring with your game and help provide on the court'
Farrish: Coach P’s main focus is defense and lets that get the offense going and I think I can provide a good amount of defense by guarding all positions 1-5.  On the offensive side, I’m an athletic wing that loves to run and space the floor.  I can also create for my teammates and hit from deep.

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

“Farrish already held various opportunities to further his game to the next level prior to the conclusion of the high school season. Regardless, he possesses the makings of a capable inside-out forward with length, rebounding ability, and the understanding of how to produce within a low-maintenance role. Farrish finishes well and knocks down shots at a useful percentage while also running the floor and altering shots defensively. He proved to be a definite difference-maker for the Gaters, especially on the glass, and should ultimately find his way to the college game.”

“While there were many standouts for Team Trezz, Farrish had an excellent showing within his role. He’s steady and knows how to remain effective with or without the ball in his hands. Farrish displayed touch, floor-spacing ability, and an understanding of how to utilize his length to disrupt his assignment. He’s a well-rounded player that does a nice job of affecting various facets of the game.”

“While the Greensboro Warriors have easily been one of the hottest teams in the region over this summer, Caleb Farrish still feels like an unsung hero within their group. His ability to adapt and operate within any type of roles makes him infinitely valuable to this team. Farrish does a nice amount of everything, from scoring to rebounding to handling the ball, and does it all very well. He’s never going to force the action or look to shoot twenty times in a game, but has the ability to be a primary option within an efficient offense. Farrish scores the ball nicely from all levels and has a nice burst of athleticism for his size/position. He’s quite versatile on both ends, but especially defensively, where he’s proven capable of guarding smaller players on the perimeter, fighting against big men down low, or working as a weak-side shot-blocker.”
