College basketball is here and Phenom Hoops is increasing their coverage this season. This is why we bring you our daily schedule of games to watch for and break down a few key games that should have your attention. Check out today’s lineup.

Washington vs. #11 Arizona

Arizona has started off really well, both with their offense and on the defensive side. They are averaging nearly 92ppg and only giving up 57ppg to their opponents. They had a strong showing against Michigan and only had one close game vs. Wichita State in overtime. The Wildcats rank first defensively in effective FG percentage, first defensively in 2-point percentage, and 22nd in 3-point percentage. Washington on the other hand struggles in all those areas, so the Huskies is going to have to see something change if they want to pull off the upset.

Saint Mary’s vs. Utah State

Two teams that come in with only one loss each, this is a matchup that is going under the radar but could get some more national attention.  Utah State has been strong, scoring the ball well led by their forward Justin Bean who is averaging 22.6ppg coming.  Utah State has also been giving up only 68ppg while Saint Mary’s has been only averaging 67.9ppg offensively.  That is why Saint Mary’s defense has to step up in a big way.  Saint Mary’s limits opponents on the boards but they will have to be swarming around with how well Utah State shares the ball (20.0apg).   matchup to watch for in a slower day of college basketball.
