#32: 6’0 Myles Tate Myles (AKA) The PlayMaker’ he is outstanding in transition. Plays with 360 all-around court vision this young man has eyes in the back of his head literally. He was also one of the best rebounders on the floor all day. He has handles like a tea-cup and combined with his basketball IQ he was a problem all day for opposing defenses. Also a good on-ball defender which quick hands and quick feet. We saw a lot of him in coast to coast plays. Solid performance all day long net him a spot on the best in show list.
#67: 6’3 Jonyle Pittman AKA (Show Time) is a Young Whayn who is a talent Whenever he has the ball in his hands you’re on the edge of your seat and your blood pressure goes up, in a good way. This kid is a natural he has a long frame with a college-ready body, that will blossom even more once he gets in a college strength and conditioning program. He has an advanced scoring package and he understands how to create with or without the ball. Plays the game in constant motion cutting and slashing always looking for open angles to the basket. Key to his success he keeps his defender on his hip whether he’s playing with the ball or without it. This allows him to make his moves keeping his defender behind him instantly. Keep your eyes on this kind. One of the Best in the show.
#60: 6’2 Robert McCray: Robert McCray is a hybrid. He is capable of playing at the 1,2, or 3. He has a very high motor and a high basketball IQ. He understands where the ball needs to go and why' He sees mismatches and knows how to confuse a defense’ his skill set and intangibles are off the chart. He is a winner and trust me he makes any player on any team that he is playing with better his attitude is one that all college coaches look for, his enthusiasm and energy make him a stand out and put him on the best in show list.
#39: 6’1 Mason Grigg, AKA (Sky God). Mason is an Advanced scoring athlete with crazy athleticism. The first thing you see is a kid who can literally jump out of the gym. His athleticism overshadows the rest of his game. That is A+. He rebounds at the guard position like no one you’ve ever seen. His range on his jump shot is amazing all the way out to the three-point line. His basketball IQ A+ deceptively quick with outstanding lateral movement. Keep an eye on this kid definitely best in the show.
#120/ 6’5 Marvin Hires: A solid all-around basketball player. A big strong body that brings the physicality of a football Tight End to the basketball court. Throwback -Jerome Kersey of the Portland trailblazers. Hires a combination of back to the basket play and his ability to catch the ball and face are amazing. At his size, his foot speed and ballhandling will impress you right away. He possesses the mid-range game, hits the open jump shot with consistencies. In the low post, he has a go-to and counter moves, and the ability to finish with either hand. Oh yeah, and Hires will catch a body. He is an outstanding passer that’s to be expected he’s a backup quarterback in football so his court vision is excellent. He is a rim protector, average four blocks a game this weekend. And Hires Will get you 10 rebounds every game write it in before the game even starts. He goes after every rebound. All these things put him on the best in show list.
#49: 6’2 Colin Rodrigues: Next, we look at a player that was able to affect the game in a variety of different ways while operating within himself Colin Rodrigues is a highly skilled strong guard. He has a natural feel for the game. He can play just as well at the 2 guard as he can at the 1. He has the ability to constantly make plays in transition. He works the floor with good vision and court sense. A gifted passer. He showed quickness on and off the ball on defense. He is a willing passer that dropped a lot of dimes during camp and he should emerge as a strong contributor during the upcoming season at his high school.
#109 6’6 Justin Amadi: Justin is a spark plug. He is full of energy. Just saying this kid has a hot motor would be an understatement. His speed quickness and agility for a small forward with his size are unbelievable. He is also a good ball-handler and a high-level high flying finisher. Combining length with his agility and outrages foot speed. Justin is a lockdown defender. Capable of defending four different positions on the floor. Putting him on the best and show list.
#118. 6’9 Bessonty Sonagba was one of the only players in camp that could be considered a true center. Even though he is somewhat of a hybrid a 4/5 player his attributes make him more of the old style pivot player he is well-built with a solid base. He also runs the floor well with long fluid strides he has a very soft touch around the rim utilizing his bank shot and the backboard on his layups. He also has good footwork knows the game has an exceptional go-to move with a counter move that works just as well. A tremendous rebounder that goes after every loose ball with two hands grabbing it above the rim. And his ability to block shots makes him best in the show South Carolina top 80.
