Phenom Hoops kicked off the season in a big way with the Carmel Christian Tip-Off Classic, bringing in some of the premier talent and teams from around the region under one building in Charlotte.

In the final game of the night, we welcomed in all the fans from Carmel Christian and Covenant Day, as it was a hostile crowd going back and forth before the ball was even tipped.  Then we got the game underway.  Both teams were getting an early feel for each other but it was Carmel Christian that started to take control early behind the play of Logan Threatt and Nyles Howard.  Jahmir Brown led the charge for Covenant Day but Carmel was able to create turnovers and capitalize on the other end with a balanced attack.  It ultimately helped them secure a double-digit lead early and expand it in the second quarter.  Covenant Day was able to cut into the lead a little late but Carmel Christian held the 43-27 halftime lead.

In the second half, Carmel Christian came out strong once again and started to put this game out of reach early.  The offense was clicking, shots were falling, and they got after it defensively as they were able to go up 77-39 at the end of the third.

The bench started to empty and others got into the game, as Carmel Christian cruised to a 96-63 victory on Day 1 of the Carmel Tip-Off.
