Greetings HS hoops junkies from across the preparing-for-States Piedmont! The Great One is here to once again release his latest rankings, pre-state playoff style. The conference tournaments are over and they produced some heart stopping results and surprises to boot. The F5 has definitely been shaken up as have the DSO and LIW lists. Conference tournament champions for The Sadster’s coverage area are Hough, North Meck, East Meck, Catholic, Hickory Ridge and Mooresville. Davie County, Providence, Weddington and South Meck attempted to pull off shockers but fell short in valiant efforts. Now, we move on to States and Selection Saturday is occuring as The Amazing One types. All of the seeding will be released today so let the prognosticating begin! For now, we will see how the rankings were affected as we go…….TO THE 5!!!!
1. MOORESVILLE 23-2 – THE DEVILS WENT 4-0 INCLUDING WINNING THE CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT TITLE IN AN OT THRILLER OVER DAVIE COUNTY.
2. CATHOLIC 22-4 – THE COUGARS SURVIVE A 44-42 SCARE FROM WEDDINGTON IN THE SOUTHERN CAROLINA CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT TITLE GAME.
3. NORTH MECK 22-4 – THE VIKINGS PULL OFF A TRIPLE CROWN ON RIVAL WEST CHARLOTTE, BLOWING OUT THE LIONS IN THE MECKLENBURG POWER 6 TITLE GAME.
4. HOUGH 20-6 – HUSKY NATION GETS PAST A SCRAPPY SOUTH MECK TEAM TO CAPTURE THEIR FIRST CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT TITLE SINCE THE LUKE MAYE DAYS.
5. HICKORY RIDGE 22-5 – THE BULLS TOPPED TOURNAMENT UPSTART OLYMPIC IN THE GREATER METRO TOURNAMENT TITLE GAME.
