Player: Obinna Ekezie
Class: 2027
Height: 7’0
School: Prolific Prep

Regarded as the top center in the Class of 2027 early on, 2027 7’0 Obinna Ekezie has been racking up the offers over the last year.  Schools like Virginia, Miami, BYU, Louisville, Oregon, Florida State, Kansas State, Ohio State, Maryland, Washington, Kentucky, Kansas, UCLA, and so many others have already sent an offer his way.  And now, the Tar Heels of North Carolina have entered the picture, officially offering the big man earlier this week as he spoke with Hubert Davis and company.

See what he had to say about the latest offer from North Carolina.

Thoughts on offer from North Carolina:

“It was great,” Ekezie told Phenom Hoops. “I think North Carolina is one of the most prestigious programs of all time, it is a blessing for a school like them to recruit me. They talked to me about what they have done with their bigs and the history of their program, hoping to help me reach my goals.”

Right now, Ekezie doesn’t have dates to visit Chapel Hill, but he is sure that he will down the road.  As far as other visits, though, Ekezie has unofficial visits to Kentucky on October 24th and to Ohio State on November 1st.

Game Description:

“I’ve always been a really good and fundamentally sound big in the post and that is where I score most of my points. I like to face up a lot because I have many more options off the face up especially being able to use my jumper. I can stretch to the three-point line and shoot the three well. I’ve developed my shot a lot at Prolific and it is a main part of my game now. I’m a really good shot blocker, averaging around 5bpg throughout the season and my most was 14 blocks in a game. I can also put the ball on the floor when needed.”
