Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or see a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player. Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Rivers Knight
Class: 2026
Committed to: Purdue

Thoughts on Commitment:

An intriguing piece for Purdue and certainly one that will be worth watching. Knight has a lot of intangibles in his game that you will like especially with his blend of size, mobility, and ability to stretch the floor. He will still be one that has work left to do in his development, but at 6’9 and with his skillset, there are things to like. When you watch him operate, Knight shows tremendous IQ and feel, operating well inside the paint, running the floor, and also being able to comfortably pop out and knock down shots.  He displays touch and feel, along with versatility as a big man.  Again, I think he could be a nice piece down the road, as Purdue hopes they found a sneaky prospect in the coming years.

What Has Been Said by Phenom Hoops:

“Knight has been a player we have watched on several occasions in the past and even a small bit with Combine Academy last year. One could easily see the intrigue and talent that Knight has in his game, and he only continued to develop last year again some premier talent. And we were very interested in seeing his game and being a key focal piece now back at Jordan High School. He didn’t disappoint, as he was able to flourish inside and out, displaying his feel and touch from an array of levels. Knight has great size and a tremendous feel around the basket, showing strong footwork and feel, touch over the shoulder, finishing through contact in the paint, and is excellent on the boards on both sides. But he was able to show his ability and comfort level in moving around on the court, running the floor, being able to put the ball on the deck at times and attack, and also being a serious weapon from the perimeter. Knight has a confident and fluid release from behind the arc, showing his versatility as a big.”

“Knight displayed the tools, the IQ and feel, the skillset, and the potential that could make him a big target in the coming years. A player of his size, Knight displayed such a tremendous feel from multiple levels, whether it was his ability to stretch the court with a fluid release or his impact and feel in the paint, the forward can hurt you in a variety of ways. He also has a tremendous knack and touch on the boards, carving out space and having good instincts.”

“As implied above, adding Knight visibly raised the ceiling of this group. Not only does he provide legitimate size, but his shooting, rebounding, rim-protection, and general skillset make him a nightly asset. Knight is comfortable posting up, spacing the floor, or operating as a screening partner—where he can reliably roll and finish or pop and convert jumpers. He anchors the glass as the Falcons’ main rebounder and runs the floor properly in transition. Add in his timing as a shot-altering presence, and it’s easy to see his value. Knight is averaging 16.7 PPG, 10.0 RPG, 2.3 APG, 1.8 SPG, and 3.2 BPG with 50/36/80 shooting splits.”

“There’s an array of enticing big men in the freshman class, and Rivers Knight is certainly within that grouping. His feel, coordination, and general work ethic are extremely rare for a player of his size and age. Knight is the only freshman on the Jordan roster, yet already conducts himself as a high-level player. He’s their leading shot-blocker while ranking second in rebounds and fourth in scoring. Knight has notched multiple double-doubles this season, but should gradually become a guy who does that on a nightly basis. He possesses touch, footwork, and positioning around the basket, but can also space the floor at a very respectable rate. Expect him to only get better going forward.”
