2028 6’5 Antoine Caughman Jr. (Keenan)
Caughman is a highly intriguing young prospect who already shows the tools to have his name near the top of the list in his class. With his size, college-ready frame, and overall impact, he immediately stands out on the court. At his position, he carries a strong physical presence but pairs it with an impressive feel for the game. Offensively, he proves to be an effective scorer from all levels—comfortable playing on or off the ball, knocking down shots with range from the perimeter, creating off the bounce, and using his athleticism to finish at the rim. Defensively, he makes just as big of an impact, using his size, mobility, and activity to disrupt opponents. Caughman brings a complete skill set and versatility that make him a player to track closely moving forward.
2028 6’5 RJ Davis (Ridge View)
At 6’5 with a wiry frame, Davis combines length with explosive bounce and athleticism, making him a constant threat on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he thrives in transition, attacking downhill and finishing strong at the rim while also showing the ability to knock down shots from the perimeter. Davis stays in attack mode, keeping pressure on defenses, but his game extends beyond scoring—he flashes playmaking instincts, impacts the glass, and uses his length to disrupt opponents defensively. With his athletic tools, versatile skill set, and room to add strength, Davis is trending as one of the most intriguing prospects in his class.
2028 6’4 JJ Gray (Carolina Forest)
Gray is another prospect that you will want to learn about and that college programs will be looking at hard in the Class of 2028 in South Carolina. He checks off a lot of early boxes and has truly developed/improved his game over the last year. When you first talk about his game, you have to first notice his shot-making ability and range. He has a confident and fluid release, getting to his spots and rising up from the perimeter with comfort. But he has shown a blossoming skill set that allows him to score off the bounce, display strong feel and IQ, and one that should only allow him to grow even more as a prospect. He had a strong freshman season, averaging 18ppg, 5.1rpg, and 1.7spg, and he should look to repeat those numbers this upcoming season.
2028 6’3 Jermier Nelson (Fort Mill)
Nelson has put together an impressive summer and I expect that to continue this upcoming season. He consistently stands out with his ability to attack off the bounce and pressure defenses. He creates paint touches at a high rate, using a quick first step, strong athleticism, and a shifty handle to keep defenders guessing. Nelson is assertive in getting downhill, finishing through contact, and drawing trips to the free-throw line, while also showing the vision to capitalize when defenses collapse. His blend of confidence, pace, and scoring versatility makes him a tough cover and a consistent playmaker on the floor.
2028 6’7 Lamont Williams (Lamar)
A player that could be a sneaky get down in South Carolina and should be one to monitor, Williams is coming off an impressive freshman season and looks to take another step in his game. He finished the season nearly averaging a double-double, averaging 11.7ppg and 9.4rpg, displaying a smooth skill set with tremendous length. He is able to score from a variety of levels, use his length to his advantage, scores at the rim well, and finds other ways to impact the game with his overall motor. Again, he is a player that is just starting his story but he should be one to jot down and learn more about in the coming eras.
2028 6’7 Brice Wiersma (TL Hanna)
Wiersma is a skilled, high-IQ forward who consistently impacts the game on both ends. He thrives in a variety of ways, providing versatility and leadership. Offensively, he shows touch with either hand, polished footwork on the block, and the ability to stretch the floor as a perimeter threat. He’s an effective passer, particularly in two-man actions, and sets solid screens with the ability to roll, pop, or create in short-roll situations. Defensively, Wiersma positions himself well, using his sturdy frame and effort to rebound and contest around the basket. While not the most explosive athlete, his fundamentals, toughness, and well-rounded skillset allow him to consistently outperform his matchup.
