Though there has been plenty of change around the state of North Carolina when it comes to prospects, the talent is still running deep all over the state. And with the high school LIVE periods coming through the month of June, we are highlighting a few players that I believe should be strong targets for so many schools and should be holding double-digit offers from schools all around. Check out Part 1 of the article.
2026 6’3 Ian Bailey (Asheville Christian)
Bailey should have college programs from around the region looking his way. I don’t know how many times I have heard of programs looking for a player like him, and Bailey has proven himself over and over. He checks off so many boxes; high IQ, exceptional feel and court vision, makes tremendous reads in finding teammates, strong in attacking and getting downhill, scores well through defenders and contact, and effective from the perimeter. He offers so much with his overall presence and game, and it is easy to see.
2026 6’4 Tyler Jones (Christ School)
Jones had an exceptional season with Christ School last year, and I’m eager to see what he can do once again. Getting a chance to watch him in action on multiple occasions, Jones just offers a lot to the table and brings such versatility. He is an effective option on both sides of the floor, plays within what the team needs, gets others involved, makes smart decisions, and doesn’t force the action. But when he needs to step up as an offensive weapon, he can do just that. Jones is a player that you WANT on your roster and can fit in with any team, as he just finds ways to produce.
2027 6’8 Trevor Manhertz (Christ School)
We have talked about Manhertz a lot, and his growth over the last year or so has been fun to watch. We have been waiting to see if everything would come together and it seemingly has been doing just that. And no matter where he may be next year, Manhertz should be rising up boards QUICKLY with teams around the area. 6’8 prospect that can fill it up from the perimeter, has a confident and quick release, and is now being assertive with his overall offensive game. But what has to excite you is the potential that is still left in his game, as I believe he will be a HUGE stock riser in the next few months.
2026 6’1 Cameron Newman (Gaston Christian)
Newman is one who you simply know what you are going to get from him. From talking about him as a young prospect in middle school to where he is today, his understanding and demeanor haven’t changed, and he continues to produce. Schools all around the local area should be looking his way and not wasting time, as Newman knows how to run the offense well, understands how to be a strong scoring point guard, and creates really well with his overall handles and IQ. No matter where he has been, Newman has produced in a big way.
