The inaugural South Carolina Top 80 took place last September in Columbia, South Carolina. One thing is for certain; the state of South Carolina is no longer just a football state. The talent is crossing over from the gridiron to the hardwood.
The invite only camp featured 80 of the top players in the state regardless of class. While athleticism and skill are often associated with the top players today, we at the Phenom Hoop Report also love the players that exemplify the term “student athlete.” In this report, we wanted to showcase the players in South Carolina that has worked equally as hard in the classroom as on the hardwood.
It’s great to see so many “student athletes” achieve this type of success in the classroom as well as the basketball court. Discipline in the classroom usually translates to discipline on the basketball court and players that achieve success on both fronts often enjoy success after their playing days.
