Holding elite level travel ball events is that you get great talent, known talent that college coaches and scouts are excited to see and write about. The great thing about being in our position is that there are so many teams who play in these events that coaches may not know yet. The hype machine tends to get around some players and stay there.

Part of Phenom Hoops’ platform is exposure for everyone. The kids that all the coaches and scouts know will certainly get some love, but light will be shed upon players that coaches may not have heard of. That is certainly the case here at Summer Havoc Live.

After Day 1 here is a guide of teams and players that coaches may not have heard of yet and NEED to make sure to watch.

Team Boost (Texas)
6’1” Unsigned Senior Darreus Brown
Brown is an incredibly long guard, who is just as comfortable on the ball as he is playing off the ball. He has a smooth stroke from deep range, averages 4 made 3s per game through his 4 games here). He also plays well on the ball, acting as the teams back up point guard. He is a sure fire Division 1 player who the coach says is qualified. Coaches will be glad they came to see him.

6’4” 2018 Elijah Elliott
Elliott is a 2017 graduate who will take a prep year at IMG Academy. The lefty is a tough, scoring guard who has a solid handle and plays hard. He has great confidence in his game and uses good footwork to get to his spots. Like others in this article he doesn’t hold any offers yet, but the right level will come – all these coaches need to do is see him.

6’8” 2018 Chandler Owenby
Owenby has a some toughness to him, not only that he has length and bounce as well. He showed some range extending out to the 3-point line but he really stood out with his toughness and motor. He is one that some specific scholarship schools will fall for when they see him.

6’9” 2018 Moustapha Diene/6’10” 2018 Djibril Diagne/6’8” 2019 Tajim Smith
WE put this trio of bigs together because they are interchangeable in their lineup. Diagne and Smith are both very fluid, run and jump guys. Diene is more of a ball skill big. He can put it on the floor well and has touch. All three of these guys are ones that will turn coaches heads, obviously Smith is a 2019.
