Fans and scouts got a special treat when CP3 EYBL 2028 came rolling through the door this past weekend at the Phenom March Madness, and this team will be back in action this upcoming weekend at the Phenom Rise Showcase. We had a chance to check out some incredible young talent coming through the region, including 2028 6’9 Bentley Lusakueno from Pace Academy.
We have heard about the rising star in the last year, but getting a chance to watch him in action, one could see why many had him trending as one of the premier prospects in his class. At 6’9, he was hard to miss on the court as he towered over many opponents, but then you get to see how he can operate and his potential.
Though it wasn’t the best shooting day overall, one can simply see that Lusakueno has a chance to be special as he develops, gets stronger, and adds more to his game. At the event, we had this to say: “2028 Bentley Lusakueno (CP3 2028 EYBL) is certainly one that will have a lot of eyes his way. Elite combination of size, fluidity, length, and overall skillset/feel. And one can see that the ceiling is very high for this young man.”
Lusakueno is extremely long and brings tremendous fluidity to the court, making him an easy appeal for scouts and college coaches in what he may ultimately be. He runs the floor extremely well, showcasing the ability to make plays off the bounce, use his wingspan and length to finish at the rim, and score inside and out. He can handle and create, score over defenders, shows that he is capable of stepping out, and make his presence felt on both sides of the court. But again, the potential in his game far outweighs what you see today, as he has a chance to be something special as he continues to work on his overall game (which will only take time). Lusakueno has a ton of tools in his game, which is why schools like Tulane, Kansas State, Missouri, Georgia, Rice, Georgia State, and Georgia Tech have already offered. But we will bank on that list only growing in the coming years as he puts his game on full display this summer and down the road.
